Battlefield roles for every MCP character (A-C)

First Up thanks to fellow MCP Redditor and Painting Guides Blogger SourImplant for the idea! Take a look at their great guides here .  We will look at every character in the game (starting with A-C today) and give them a rating of 1(bad) to 5 (great) at these categories:  Speed :  How fast does the character move, including any superpowers that support it. Durability :  How well can the character survive enemy attacks. This includes healthpool, defensive stats but also superpowers like Damage reduction or Healing Factor or the turning off of enemy crits.  Damage output :  This contains both attacks but also superpower throws, especially bigger terrain throws. It also takes attack types and stuff like Rapid Fire and Beams into account.  Range :  At what Range can the character operate at? This will not always take the characters longest range attack but might find the middle on those and try to show where they want to operate at realisticall...

Don't blame the dice! Understanding probabilities

Something I often see is people on Reddit asking for tips on affiliations that don't rely on attacking as they "always roll bad" as well as people getting frustrated and blaming their dice for losing a game.  1. The Negativity Bias It's basic human nature to remember bad experiences more and better than good ones. It helped the development of our species to avoid deadly dangers and the like. The chances of getting eaten by Sabertooth Tiger during a game of MCP are rather slim though (even if your models might be getting killed by an enemy Sabretooth).  What that translates to is that you are much more likely to remember that one critical roll, that went bad, then the 30 others you had, that were perfectly average.  What can you do about it? It's a lot of work but it can help to keep a full on log of every dice roll you take in a game. If you want to go the extra mile, you could even compare your results to the expected averages. Jarvis Protocol offers a very hel...

Rules Help: the attack timing chart

Today we will take an in-depth look at the most complex and important rule in MCP: the attack timing chart.  We will go through all the 14 steps one by one and add examples of what happens at each step. (Klick on each image to enlarge it if necessary).  This part is pretty easy you choose one of the attacks on the characters stat card that it has enough power to use. Importantly you don't pay the power yet.  Steps a, b and c will realistically not happen a lot because you will have pre measured if your desired target is in range before committing to an attack most of the times. Where it is important though is when attacking with a Beam or an area attack and getting interrupted during resolving it by something like a Heroes for Hire. Because even if your character gets displaced before all attacks are resolved you don't check Range and LOS again.  Some effects like the TTC Eye in the Sky or the Lifesaver superpower on Ghost-Spider specifically call out, that ...

What we learned from the Post Adepticon Fury's Finest Interview with Will Shick

Right at the end of Adepticon Will Shick had an Interview with the (fantastic) Fury's Finest Podcast. If you have the time go listen to the episode yourself, it's always worth listening to Jesse and Chris and it's also always fantastic to hear Will Shick talk about the game. That should be enough reason right there 😉 Find it here   With that out of the way let's see what we learned from the interview:  Adam Warlock:  As expected he is confirmed to be the second Guardians of the Galaxy leader with his leadership being called "Infinity Watch". With his release there will be updates to the Gems and, just like Thanos, he'll be able to hold two of them. And he's going to get a special Soul Stone that only he can hold.  Quasar and Moondragon:  These two will have some synergy with each other (as they should), but not a Husband and Wife mechanic. Shick also talks a lot about how the sculpt of Moondragon came to be and that's a lot of fun to listen too....

March 2025 stats

Welcome to the March 2025 stats article. As always this article will have two parts: the stats from all events (AE) and rated singles events (RSE). While a few games of the old crisis rotation were still played, the new rotation made up the absolute majority of games. Let's dig right in:  All Events:  Wakanda , on the back of a very strong month for M'Baku, takes first place. Their play rate isn't super high but also not on the level of the least played affiliations.  Feb: 4th. +3  Many voices in the community thought the crisis rotation would be great for the Servants of the Apocalypse . They were right apparently. The affiliation is also very popular. Feb: 5th. +3 Each and every SHIELD leader had a good month which in total gets the affiliation into the top 3.  Feb: 19th. +16 While Kingpin has had a very good month with more than double the amount of games Shadowland Daredevil has had the real eye opener month for the Criminal Syndicate .  Feb: 15...
