May 25 Affiliation stats

Welcome to the May stats article. As always we split them between All events (AE) and Rated Single Events (RSE), starting with AE:

Web Warriors were pretty popular and also very successful.

April: 5. +4

Inhumans would be the clear cut number one on just Black Bolt leadership alone. And even tie with Web Warriors despite neither Maximus nor Medusa posting numbers even close to 50%.

April:  4. +3

Servants of the Apocalyse remain incredibly popular and strong.

April: 1. -2

Wakanda remains quite a force, especially lead by M'Baku.

April: 2. -2

Making a surprise appearance in the top 5 are the Spider-Foes and it's with a tonne of games played even.

April: 16. +11

Avengers were extremely popular in May and with good success for all leaders but Hulkbuster.

April:  14. +8

For SHIELD, Namor puts them where they are overall, as Fury misses the 50/50 mark.

April:  6. -1

Hard to evaluate the individual leaders for the Criminal Syndicate as 62 games have no recorded leader. As we see it Shadowland Daredevil is the one who gets them into the top 10 this month as Kingpin has a rare below 50% win rate in May.

April: 8. Same

A solid overall month with decent popularity for A-Force secures a top 10 spot.

April: 7. -2

A dominant month for Jane leadership lifts Asgard back into the top 10. Over 300 games played also shows they are still very popular.

April: 12. +2

Red Skull, Master of Hydra gets back to his dominant self and gets the Affiliation in the top half of the standings.

April: 11. Same

A perfectly even month for Convocation. It's gonna be interesting if the changes to the three Stranges (Clea, OG Doctor Strange and Supreme Strange) have an impact here.

April: 3. -9

Dark Dimension stays in the top half despite narrowly missing the 50/50 mark in more than 100 games played.

April: 13. Same

Legion of the Lost reach neither 50% nor 100 games but secure the final spot in the top half anyway.

April:  14. Same

For Midnight Sons it remains the same story where Blade has very good numbers but Elsa drags the overall stats down. It's gonna be interesting if the update to Doctor Strange will help Elsa in the future.

April: 15. Same

Comparatively high placing May for the Winter Guard, even if they don't quite reach 50%.

April:  25. +9

High popularity but not a tonne of success for the Guardians of the Galaxy. At least I can say I added to wins and only one loss with them to the stats of the month.

April: 20. +3

Untypically Storm is the worst leader for Uncanny X-Men, even losing out to Cyclops. Professor X has had a perfectly even month.

April: 22.  +4

Thralls of Dracula hadn't had a particularly impressive month in neither games played nor win rate.

April: 10. -9

It's going to be much more interesting to look at the stats for the Defenders next month.

April: 18. -2

Decent popularity and mediocre success for the Brotherhood of Mutants who await their new pack to get a bit of a boost. Will Pagani confirmed in his interview with the Danger Room Podcast that Magneto wasn't in the May change updates on purpose because AMG doesn't believe he needs an update.

April: 17. -4

Surprisingly high number of games played for New Mutants, with moderate success.

April: 26. +4

Numbers remain low in the win percentage for X-Force, who now also start to lose more and more players, not even reaching 100 games in May.

April: 24. +1

A fine month for Master of the World combined with bad ones for the other three leaders has Cabal very near the bottom of the standings.

April: 21. +3

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sentinels didn't even have another game until their coming update and new models in 2026.

April: 27. +2

Very much a down month for Weapon X in both games played and win rate.

April: 9. -17

A lot more games played for Black Order than I would have expected but not a good showing at all in them.

April: 28. +1

With only 19 games played Hellfire Club doesn't even get a number from Longshanks but sits at the very bottom. It's gonna be a while but coming updates to Sinister (confirmed), Omega Red (likely) and Shadow King (very likely) in 2026

April: 23. -5

RSE:

If it would be just Black Bolt leadership Inhumans would be without competition. They are still better by 2% than the next best.

April: 2. +1

With over 300 games played there is no sign that Servants of the Apocalypse will be slowing down anytime soon.

April: 1. -1

Web Warriors are reliably in the top 3 and nothing has changed for them.

April: 3. Same

Spider-Foes show that their good month was on the back of RSE wins.

April:16. +12

Wakanda has had a very good RSE month for another top 5 finish.

April: 4. -1

Black Bolt who? Shadowland Daredevil has an even better win rate than him and Criminal Syndicate have a very strong month on his and Kingpins back.

April: 11. +5

Hydra has had a dominant RSE month. Especially Red Skull.

April: 21. +14

Sam Wilson shows everyone whos boss with the best win rate in all of RSE. Avengers have a great month as well especially under Steve 1.

April: 9. +1

SHIELD is carried by Namor to a top 10 finish.

April: 6. -3

A-Force take the final spot in the top 10.

April:  5. -5

Nothing new to say about Midnight Sons. Top tier numbers for Blade / not so much for Elsa.

April: 8. -3

Almost 50/50 and a spot in the top half is a great finish for the Winter Guard.

April: 22. +10

Jane brings Asgard back to former glory but Loki and Thor leadership still struggle.

April: 17. +4

High play rate and somewhat recovered (but still below 50%) win rate for my current #1 affiliation Guardians of the Galaxy

April: 25. +11

X-Force climb up the standings quite a bit but not really on the back of that great a win rate. Better than last month anyway.

April: 26. +11

Brotherhood of Mutants inch a bit closer to 50/50. It's going to be interessting if the new pack will boost them or not.

April: 15. +1

Rather low play rate for the Thralls of Dracula and mediorce success.

April: 10. -7

Convocation has dipped a bit from last month. New Clea and buffed Magik as well as both Stranges could give them a little boost.

April: 12. -6

Defenders will propably see a big increase in play rate next month and it's going to be interessting to see if Doctor Strange will be able to increase his win rate after his update.

April: 18. -1

A month to forget for the Uncanny X-Men. Storm especially.

April: 24. +3

New Mutants having over 50 RSE games is the biggest suprise here.

April: 27. +4

Some stoic people still play Sentinels in RSE. More power to them.

April: 23. -1

Not a good month at all for the Cabal, with no leader reaching 50%.

April: 19. -6

Low numbers in games and wins for Weapon X.

April: 14. -12

RSE was definitely not where Dark Dimension did shine in May.

April: 7. -20

Black Order is barely an Affiliation at the moment. You won't see me complain about Thanos being irrelevant but this is pretty far from where you want any Affiliation to be.

April:  28. Same

Hellfire Club barely reached 10 games and didn't do great in them.

April: 20. -8

That's it for today.

Cheers from Germany 🍻

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set 2 you h...

Affiliation Overview: Defenders (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders.  On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a tonne of great characters and some variety in play style.  How to start the affiliation Update: In Q2 2025 AMG releases the Defenders affiliation pack which uniquely comes with five models in Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. You have to pick this pack up first and absolutely should.  After that I would first pick up Shang-Chi and Silver Sable followed by Hulk and then Namor and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast. You have your core very much there. The affiliation is very deep and has a lot of good characters but with those mentioned you have your probably most used models in hand already. Also all of the affiliated TTCs. Just note that Pentagrams of Falafel (let me have fun with t...

Affiliation Overview: Midnight Sons (updated rewrite)

Why should you play the affiliation? These are Marvels best Earth based characters. This is a definite objective fact and not just my personal feeling.  They also offer a wide variety of play styles and affiliated models.  How to start the affiliation Update:  Blade, Moon Knight, Doctor Voodoo and Ghost Rider will be combined into a MS affiliation pack, with their current stat cards in all four langues and new art. It releases in April.  Your first purchase here is probably still Blade (leader) and Moon Knight but you could also now start with Elsa Bloodstone (leader) and Man-Thing. Both are good value boxes as both come with a leader and a good affiliated 3 threat. So in the end it's probably best to just get both. Next up you'll want to look at getting a high threat model for which you have 3 options that all have their unique strengths and reasons to be picked. The biggest threat investment but also by far and large his best home comes in the Immortal Hulk. Ghost ...
