Take aways from the 2026 Timelines Document

In the wides of the Web the 2026 timelines Document has been spotted and while I don't have a lot of interest in the format itself seeing as I'll absolutely never have a chance to play it (the intended way) myself there's still some conclusions to draw from it:

Affiliations for new characters:

Blue Marvel: Mighty Avengers (not listed in Defenders, though we have one precedent of a character having had different Affiliations in timelines in Killmonger 2)

Spectrum: Mighty Avengers

Moondragon: Avengers, Defenders, Guardians of the Galaxy

Quasar: Guardians of the Galaxy

Adam Warlock: Guardians of the Galaxy

Valkyrie & Elendil: Asgard

The Warriors Three: Asgard

Rescue: A-Force, Avengers, SHIELD

Iron Monger: Criminal Syndicate, Cabal

Iron Lad: Unaffiliated (he'll be Young Avengers when they come out at the end of the year or whenever that's actually going to be)

Kang, the Conquerer: Cabal (leadership)

New TTC and who I think they'll belong to:

Corporate Espionage - Iron Monger

Cosmic Awareness - Adam Warlock

Danger Management - Rescue

Data Backup - Rescue or Iron Monger?

Deeds Worthy of Song - The Warriors Three

Guns Blazin’ - Guardians of the Galaxy ?

Power Couple - Quasar and Moondragon Team Up

Ride of the Valkyries - Valkyrie and Elendil

The Best Defense - Adam Warlock (leadership)?

The Douglas Family - Drax and Moondragon Team Up

The Magus - Adam Warlock

Trust No One But Yourself - Kang

Will be interesting to see if I'm right about the cards but even if I am not there's definitely a bunch of them and I'm excited to see what they'll do.

Affiliation Overview: Spider-Foes (2026 update)

Why should you play the affiliation Are you a somewhat of a scientist yourself? Do you like crushing arachnids? Do you love making overly complicated plans and see them ruined by a teenager? Spider-Foes are a super fun faction, which boosts the best looking line of miniatures in the game and a very fun and unique play style with tricks and traps. How to start the affiliation As long as it's available you absolutely start with the Spider-Foes Starter set. It's the so gle best deal in MCP and probably all of tabletop wargaming. Affiliation Overview: Defenders (2026 Update)

Why should you play the affiliation Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders. On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a ton of great characters and some variety in play style. How to start the affiliation The necessary first buy is the Defenders Affiliation pack, containing Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Next I would look at the Hard to Hit character pack with Namor, Shang-Chi, Silver Sable and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast, who are all affiliated. And if you want to bring the currently competitively strongest version of Defenders to the table, you'll have to pick up Blue Marvel and Spectrum (unaffiliated). The August Update part 1

I don't think we'll need an intro for these 😅 here are my takes on part 1 of the character updates: Abomination : injured side art update only Adam Warlock : Injured side art update only Agent Venom : Already a favorite character to play of mine the increase to above average 7/7 makes him an excellent piece in all of his (many) affiliated homes. A Amazing Spider-Man : ASM has already been very hard to take off the board and 7/7 makes him nigh invincible. His problem has always been list lackluster damage output and he's got no news there. B Ancient One : 7/6 might make her more interesting now but she struggles with competition in the 4 threat slot where Defenders have a giant pool of options. She could have a comeback in Convocation maybe. B- Angel : Angel already had the markings of a great objective runner and with respectable 6/6 now he is far better at fulfilling that role.
