My personal MCP goals for 2025

A bit of a different article today as I want to share my personal MCP goals for 2025.

For that we will take a look at my stats from 2024 (in reality it is middle of December to middle of December but you get it):

Games played

I recorded 66 games on Longshanks and 70 on Jarvis Protocol and did play some more I didn't track (learning games for newer players or players new to TTS) and sometimes when no one had time when I unexpectedly had I played some "shadowbox" games against myself on TTS to test out models and strategies.

Goal for 2025:

Play 70 games again with a minimum of 52 (so once a week on average). Anything more would be nice but honestly unrealistic.

Longshanks Batches Earned:

Dabbler is the one Trophy I can definitely count on getting every year because I simply can't stay focused on a single affiliation.

During the year I earned the 10 games badges for Hydra, CS and currently still active Brotherhood of Mutants. And my first and only 20 games batch for Asgard.

The People's Champion comes from a combination of running three seasons of the German speaking TTS league that brings together the scattered German players and the Vienna guys from Austria and a local in person event I ran in November. It's definitely an award I'll try to get again this year, but that's largely dependent on people participating in my events of course.

My Goal for 2025:

Getting the 10 games batches for these affiliations:

Midnight Sons

Guardians of the Galaxy

Asgard

Inhumans

Spider-Foes

Servants of the Apocalypse

I've narrowed myself down to "just" play these six affiliations this year. Will I stick to this? Most definitely not, but it's nice to have a plan anyway. 😁

Getting 10 games in with each here would come out to 60 games which would leave 10 game up. Currently Midnight Sons are the highest on my list and are probably the best candidate to get the 20 games batch, even if that could mean missing out on another badge.

My win rate:

A perfect 50%.

My Goal for 2025:

Stay at 50% or get a little bit better.

Models painted:

Every model I got except the packs I got for Christmas today (Apocalypse, Abomination, the Wrecking Crew, Sunspot, Warlock, Shang-Chi and Silver Sable). I sadly haven't tracked how many models I got this year but I'm currently only missing:
The MK4 Sentinels, King T'Challa, Angel, Archangel, Maverick, Mephisto and Weapon X of the currently available models (for some models I only have 3D prints yet but that's a very small number) and am fully painted. So I did paint a lot.

My Goal for 2025:

Get every model I buy painted within 2 weeks of recieving it, like I have so far.

IRL Events attended

2. Osnabrücker Secret Wars (player)

3. Osnabrücker Secret Wars (Player)

WTC 2024 (Judge)

Steel Wars 1. - Novembrawl (TO and player)

My Goal for 2025:

Host two events myself and attend another two or three if at all possible. Sadly WTC25 is pretty much out of the question for me.

What are your MCP goals for the new year?

  1. Schön zu lesen, dass für 2025 Turniere in NRW angedacht sind. Hoffentlich klappt eine Teilnahme terminlich, nachdem beim Steel Wars 1 nur zugucken möglich war.

Affiliation Overview: Defenders (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders.  On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a tonne of great characters and some variety in play style.  How to start the affiliation Update: In Q2 2025 AMG releases the Defenders affiliation pack which uniquely comes with five models in Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. You have to pick this pack up first and absolutely should.  After that I would first pick up Shang-Chi and Silver Sable followed by Hulk and then Namor and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast. You have your core very much there. The affiliation is very deep and has a lot of good characters but with those mentioned you have your probably most used models in hand already. Also all of the affiliated TTCs. Just note that Pentagrams of Falafel (let me have fun with t...

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set 2 you h...

Affiliation Overview: Uncanny X-Men (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  X-Men are far and away the most popular Marvel part after the overall most popular character in the world (Spider-Man). They are not only a favourite of the community but also clearly of AMG being the faction with the most build options for their characters.  On the table they are super flexible, have a huge list of affiliated models and very strong TTCs.  How to start the affiliation  Update: from October 2025 AMG releases new single Person starter sets. One of them is the X-Men starter set:  Aside from the ten characters it also contains ten dice and the measuring tools. The X-Men starter (which is a Brotherhood of Mutants starter at the same time) is a permanent addition to the line up, whereas the Spider-Foes one will only he sold for a limited time.  The new starter set is absolutely the perfect first purchase for X-Men but until then the X-Men affiliation pack is the best starting point giving you two of you...
