What we learned from the Post Adepticon Fury's Finest Interview with Will Shick

Right at the end of Adepticon Will Shick had an Interview with the (fantastic) Fury's Finest Podcast. If you have the time go listen to the episode yourself, it's always worth listening to Jesse and Chris and it's also always fantastic to hear Will Shick talk about the game. That should be enough reason right there 😉

Find it here

With that out of the way let's see what we learned from the interview:

Adam Warlock:

As expected he is confirmed to be the second Guardians of the Galaxy leader with his leadership being called "Infinity Watch". With his release there will be updates to the Gems and, just like Thanos, he'll be able to hold two of them. And he's going to get a special Soul Stone that only he can hold.

Quasar and Moondragon:

These two will have some synergy with each other (as they should), but not a Husband and Wife mechanic. Shick also talks a lot about how the sculpt of Moondragon came to be and that's a lot of fun to listen too.

Kang:

Kang will be a leader for an "existing Affiliation that would make sense for him" so it's mostly likely going to be Cabal. His leadership will be similar to Recalibration Matrix as that's how time is shown in the game already.

Iron Monger:

Is confirmed as a Member of the Cabal and the Criminal Syndicate (no big surprises there).

Tigra:

Tigra will have a special version of Pounce as she's a cat person.

Echo:

Her model has been designed around the time Shadowland Daredevil was designed. Probably explaining why they look so similar in poses.

Ronin:

Will be a close combat specialist (who would've thought 😅).

Spider-Man 2099:

Spider-Man 2099 was originally supposed to come out alongside Miles and Gwen. He's been postponed "a bit". They specifically aimed at him being a very different 5 threat than ASM for the Web Warriors.

Ultimate Spider-Man:

Miles 2 probably doesn't have a leadership as Shick talked a lot about them wanting to push ASM leadership.

Spider-Verse TTC:

Shick confirmed there's going to be a Spider-Verse TTC in this pack but not what exactly it does. I'm very sure it will allow you to double up on alter-egos in some way.

Silk:

Is combining the abilities of some Spiders already in the game (similar to Scarlet Spider probably)

Spider-Ham:

It was not planned to ever make another 2 threat but Ham ended up being a candidate for it and they feel they got him right.

Spider-Noir:

Unlike Silk he'll bring a very new mechanic where he collects clues and those help you in the game. Not sure what that means exactly.

Nimrod:

He'll be very strong with good attacks, defenses and ways to suppress superpowers (maybe a root aura in the style of Loki 1?)

Tolerance is Extinction was set as the next crisis pack before X-Men 97 came out. Bastion is the favorite character of Art Director Josh Colón.

X-Factor Investigations:

The new affiliation will immediately start with two leaderships. Multiple Man will have one that reminds of the effects that Spider-Noir will use. The other leadership is most likely on Havoc.

Clea:

She's been specially called out to get a very big update in May.

That's it for today.

Cheers from Germany 🍻

Affiliation Overview: Spider-Foes (2026 update)

Why should you play the affiliation  Are you a somewhat of a scientist yourself? Do you like crushing arachnids? Do you love making overly complicated plans and see them ruined by a teenager?  Spider-Foes are a super fun faction, which boosts the best looking line of miniatures in the game and a very fun and unique play style with tricks and traps.  How to start the affiliation  As long as it's available you absolutely start with the Spider-Foes Starter set. It's the so gle best deal in MCP and probably all of tabletop wargaming.  The only characters you're missing out of the affiliation after that are:  Kingpin (available in the Criminal Syndicate Affiliation pack, which is a good additional pick up after the starter set)  Doctor Octopus (available in the Spider-Foes Affiliation Pack or Rivals Panel)  Doc Ock, Sinister Scientist (available in the Earth Mightiest Core Set, a good additional pick up if you need terrain) Venom (currently de f...

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set ...

Ministravaganza 25 reactions

Wow Ministravaganza 25 did a lot in just 35 mins of MCP this year. Let's dive right in and see if my predictions were even close to correct:  1. Roadmap We're immediately starting out with a banger here. Everything on Iron Lads card is just very good. His builder has a "for every wild" trigger with slow and stun which are both great, his Gainer can push, his Spender can automatically reroll any number of dice, he can remove a damage or special condition for a single power, has a size 2 terrain throw and can reroll attackers dice (just for himself but still). He's an extremely well rounded 3 threat.  A.  The first ever 3 threat on a 65mm base! And oh my what a 3 threat that is. A good builder that can choose to be physical or energy is followed by a great spender that has a throw and an extract steal (not just drop but actually stealing) trigger, as well has a place, rerolls and damage reduction. He is confirmed to be a member of the Criminal Syndicate and will ...
