Hot Take: Avalanche, Exodus and Lady Mastermind

Not the news I was hoping for today but news nonetheless:

(Click on the images to enlarge them)

Avalanche looks sweet to be honest. He's not in the Realm of the top end 3's even compared to recent releases like Karnak and especially Gorgon but Landslide is a fantastic ability. It's really what you're picking him up for. Reactively destroying terrain is also great in Magneto. But he's probably best played in a very wide Mystique team where he can be the last activation and just guaranteed push someone off a secure. Is he splash worthy? Maybe. If you need a 3 with guaranteed control he can be your man while being at least a bit tougher than Ghost-Spider. His model is also A+.

We now got the confirmation that nothing changes on the backside for Exodus. Which is nice as a total of 14 HP with his multiple ways of healing makes him very hard to get off the board. Which nice as he's got a great sculpt you're not mad at having on the table for a long time. Many Podcasts described Exodus as being a strictly worse Cable which yeah there are a lot of similarities but where Cable is more offensively reliable Exodus is going to last a whole lot longer on the board. A true Brawler, maybe rivaling even Juggs for staying Power while being more offensive (but of course much slower).
I think Exodus absolutely has a home in Brotherhood and can be splashes anywhere you want a big tanky 5. Convocation might be a good spot for him. He does make finding a spot for Wanda in your BH Teams even harder though.

Lady Mastermind is very weird character. It's quite hard to image the kind of impact "Your Reality Is What I Want It To Be" will have and it of course really depends on the opponents team. When they bring characters with good builders/ gainers and low mystic defense she's going to have a field day probably. Wolverine and X-23 come to mind here. In other match ups it will do nothing. Mental Fog is tried and true of course. Between her, Mystique and Emma Frost you could have three of these in your Brotherhood squad. Overall I think she's a character I can't really give any value assessment off before having seen her played. And I do hope her models looks better in person. Definitely the weakest of the three here (sculpt).

This is a strong card (for a weird character nonetheless). It's specifically good against CGR and Dormammu but otherwise what you want to achieve here is the Advance for the defending character. With Lady Mastermind operating at R5 it can be hard to be in Range for the card though.

This cards represent what Will Shick was mentiong a lot where Brotherhood is supposed to be built around those one or two big centerpieces with their henchmen (and women) tagging along. It's a new faction identity card. If you bring Mags, Exodus and/or Juggernaut you'll also bring the card.

Another very strong card. It's basically a secondary leadership where you get to be A-Force but all power goes to the big guys. You've of course have to have invested 11 threat in the pair already so the amount of lower threat characters that can trigger it is a bit limited but it's still a strong effect.

A nice team up card for Avalanche and Pyro. It's cheap and can be effective. Not really key to either character though.

Overall these seems like good additions to the Brotherhood of Mutants with Exodus and the TTCs looking like the most impactful ones. Lad Mastermind might prove to be amazing and Avalanche looks fun with his guaranteed control.

That's it for today.

Cheers from Germany 🍻

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set 2 you h...

Battlefield roles for every MCP character (A-C)

First Up thanks to fellow MCP Redditor and Painting Guides Blogger SourImplant for the idea! Take a look at their great guides here .  We will look at every character in the game (starting with A-C today) and give them a rating of 1(bad) to 5 (great) at these categories:  Speed :  How fast does the character move, including any superpowers that support it. Durability :  How well can the character survive enemy attacks. This includes healthpool, defensive stats but also superpowers like Damage reduction or Healing Factor or the turning off of enemy crits.  Damage output :  This contains both attacks but also superpower throws, especially bigger terrain throws. It also takes attack types and stuff like Rapid Fire and Beams into account.  Range :  At what Range can the character operate at? This will not always take the characters longest range attack but might find the middle on those and try to show where they want to operate at realisticall...

Adepticon 2025 Reveals evaluated

The big AMG Adepticon Panel has come and gone and I've had some time to digest everything and will give my opinions and of course I'll compare the reveals with my predictions.  (As always click on the images to enlarge them) Gambit has gotten a much needed update:  His Gainer lost a dice but changed to Energy.  His Spender has the trigger changed to a wild Stun.  He can now walk in any direction with his reactive superpower instead of just away from the character that attacked him.  He lost the superpower to add dice to his attacks.  He has gained an incredible innate superpower that lets him always count wilds double while attacking, defending and dodging. Very thematically fitting and cool.  Is that enough? Yeah I think so. He's kind of a 3 threat slot machine now where his wilds mean so much, that rerolls (offensively and defensively) are fantastic with him. His TTC Dark Past remains the strongest argument to play him still though which is wh...
