June 2025 affiliation stats

Welcome to the June stats article. As always we divide the article into All Events (AE) and Rated Singels Events (RSE) starting with AE:

A lot of games have been played in June indeed. Let's see how every affiliation fared in them:

Apocalypse reigns supreme with an above 60% win rate.
May: 3rd. +2

SHIELD, on the back of Namor and unbelievably Steve Rogers, grabs second place.
May: 7th. +5

Web Warriors are a top 3 faction as usual and ASM leadership had a fantastic month for them (in few games).
May: 1st. -2

Maximus and Medusa drag Inhumans down who otherwise would've been in second place.
May: 2. -2

Criminal Syndicate climbs into the top 5 with amazing performances from both Kingpin and Shadowland Daredevil.
May: 8th. +3

In a rare occurrence Steve 3 beats out Steve 1 in win rate for the Avengers while Sam in his limited games puts up top tier numbers and even Hulkbuster has a decent rate.
May: 6th. Even

Hydra has had a surprisingly strong month with both Red Skull and Baron Strucker having very high win rates.
May: 11th. +4

Green Goblin puts up top tier numbers for the Spider-Foes but Ock drags them down a bit.
May: 5th. -3

Convocation had a good month as well. The Magik buff and quality of life change on Supreme Strange probably increased the state of the overall affiliation.
May: 12. +3

Master of the World leads the Cabal to a top 10 finish while none of the other leaders can manage 50% win rate.
May: 24. +14

King T (in limited games) leads the way for Wakanda while M'Baku carries the load of games as usual.
May: 4th. -7

Finally a somewhat upwards ticking month for the X-Men even if they miss the 50% mark. Unusual low numbers in games played under Storm.
May: 18th. +6

Jane continues to put up good numbers for Asgard but both Loki 2 and Thor leadership struggle.
May: 10th. -3

Doctor Strange takes over the Defenders as their defacto leader and scratches on the 50% mark. He hasn't quite gotten there yet but is definitely heavily improved.
May: 20th. +6

Low numbers in games and wins for Weapon X but still close enough to 50% to reach the top 15.
May: 26th. +11

New Mutants, definitely helped by Cathals incredible run at the London GT, almost reach 50% which is a huge improvement overall.
May: 22nd. +6

Guardians of the Galaxy do struggle to find crisis cards they really want to run in my experience. My main competitive affiliation for the year (yes because of Nova) and one I'm likely to play a lot next year with the second leadership finally coming out, too. But for our next German speaking TTS league I'll take a short break from them. I'll post about the roster that I'm going to take probably next week for anyone interested.
May: 17. Even

Coming from my overall favorite Marvel characters to my favorite Earth based in the Midnight Sons where it feels like I could just copy and paste what I'm saying every month. Blade good, Elsa bad.
May: 15. -2

Dark Dimension did have a down month in June while still getting a relatively good number of games in.
May: 13th. -6

For the Brotherhood of Mutants, eagerly awaiting their new releases, Magneto edges back to relevance while Mystique drifts away into obscurity.
May: 21st. +1

Thralls of Dracula didn't have a great month in neither games played nor win rate.
May: 19th. -2

A-Force fail to get to 100 games and didn't fare great in them either.
May: 9th. -13

Winter Guard awaits their re release updates in 2026 to hopefully get a little more relevant again.
May: 16th. -7

In the battle of the 5 threat leader everyone is in affiliation Legion of the Lost loses to the Thralls in both games played and win rate.
May: 14th. -10

X-Force have loyal fans and get over 100 games played but their record was very terrible in those.
May: 23rd. -2

Black Order barely qualifies for being an Affiliation at this point. They are in need of something but that is currently not on the horizon.
May: 27th. +1

Hellfire Club is played so few times that it doesn't qualify for a number. It's 27.
May: 28th. +1

It doesn't really make sense to play Sentinels until their big update in 2026 but a few people are stubborn enough to still try them right now.
May: 25th. -3

Rated Singels Events (RSE):

Apocalypse reigns supreme in RSE too.
May: 2nd. +1

Kingpin and Shadowland Daredevil combine their strengths to get Criminal and to second place in RSE.
May: 6th. +4

Both Medusa and Maximus achieve above  50% win rates which are still lowering Inhumans overall numbers.
May: 1st. -2

Incredible numbers from Namor in very limited games played gets SHIELD rank 4.
May: 9th. +5

Very good numbers in RSE for both Spider-Foes leaders, especially Green Goblin.
May: 4th. -1

Avengers fare extremely well in RSE under basically all leaders.
May: 6th. Same

A very good if not great RSE performance for the Web Warriors.
May: 3rd. -4

King T and M'Baku lead Wakanda to another top 8 finish in June in RSE while classic Black Panther doesn't appear to be relevant for the faction anymore and Killmonger leadership is useless.
May: 5th. -3

Hydra probably isn't an affiliation many would consider top 10 but proved people wrong with very good numbers especially under Baron Strucker.
May: 7th. -2

Only four games played in RSE disqualifies Hellfire Club from the standings.
May: 28th.

Under Master of the World Cabal is a top tier faction but the numbers get dragged down by the rest of the leaders.
May: 25th. +15

X-Men scratch at the 50% mark and are trending upwards.
May: 21st. +10

Guardians of the Galaxy also came close to 50% in RSE.
May: 14th. +2

Magneto had a positive record for the Brotherhood of Mutants while Mystique didn't have a great month.
May: 16th. -3

Dark Dimension also almost reached 50%.
May: 27th. +13

Decent amount of games with moderate success for Convocation.
May: 18th. +3

Jane leadership on her own would bring Asgard back into the top tier.
May: 13th. -3

New Mutants are on the rise in both games played and win rate.
May: 23rd. +6

Many leaderless games for Weapon X, which is probably fair.
May: 26th. +8

In Midnight Sons it's even grimmer with the Blade good, Elsa bad in RSE than in AE.
May: 11th. -8

In RSE Defenders haven't fared too great but Doctor Strange is still improved. And has definitely taken over as the defacto leader.
May: 19th. -1

A-Force also hadn't had a great month in RSE.
May: 10th. -11

Not much to say about the rest of the field that I haven't said before...

Thralls of Dracula.
May: 17th. -5

Winter Guard.
May: 12th. -13

X-Force.
May: 15th. -9

Legion of the Lost.
May: 20th. -5

Black Order.
May: 28th. +2

Sentinels.
May: 24th. -4

That's it for today.

Cheers from Germany 🍻

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set 2 you h...

Battlefield roles for every MCP character (A-C)

First Up thanks to fellow MCP Redditor and Painting Guides Blogger SourImplant for the idea! Take a look at their great guides here .  We will look at every character in the game (starting with A-C today) and give them a rating of 1(bad) to 5 (great) at these categories:  Speed :  How fast does the character move, including any superpowers that support it. Durability :  How well can the character survive enemy attacks. This includes healthpool, defensive stats but also superpowers like Damage reduction or Healing Factor or the turning off of enemy crits.  Damage output :  This contains both attacks but also superpower throws, especially bigger terrain throws. It also takes attack types and stuff like Rapid Fire and Beams into account.  Range :  At what Range can the character operate at? This will not always take the characters longest range attack but might find the middle on those and try to show where they want to operate at realisticall...

Adepticon 2025 Reveals evaluated

The big AMG Adepticon Panel has come and gone and I've had some time to digest everything and will give my opinions and of course I'll compare the reveals with my predictions.  (As always click on the images to enlarge them) Gambit has gotten a much needed update:  His Gainer lost a dice but changed to Energy.  His Spender has the trigger changed to a wild Stun.  He can now walk in any direction with his reactive superpower instead of just away from the character that attacked him.  He lost the superpower to add dice to his attacks.  He has gained an incredible innate superpower that lets him always count wilds double while attacking, defending and dodging. Very thematically fitting and cool.  Is that enough? Yeah I think so. He's kind of a 3 threat slot machine now where his wilds mean so much, that rerolls (offensively and defensively) are fantastic with him. His TTC Dark Past remains the strongest argument to play him still though which is wh...
