July 2025 affiliation stats

Welcome to the July stats article. You probably know the drill by now: first we look at All Events (AE) and then at the Rated Singels Events (RSE). Click on the images to enlarge them.

Convocation jumps all the way to the very top. Maybe the minor buff to Supreme Strange was already enough of a lift but I feel that OG Strange also has more of a place in the Affiliation nowadays.

June: 9. +8

Knocked down from the very top but with thrice the games played there's no doubt the Servants of the Apocalypse are still absolutely top tier.

June: 1. -1

Medusa did very well as the leader of the Inhumans, Black Bolt ties Convocation personally but Maximus drags the affiliation down a little bit.

June: 4. +1

King T continues to disprove the nay Sayers to his leadership (of which I am/was one to be honest) with the best win rate for Wakanda again (in the few games he's been called upon). M'Baku puts out top members as well in the bulk of games played as usual.

June: 11. +7

A very big surprise to see the New Mutants in the top 5. Cathal has definitely proven they can perform on a top tier level and a few more players have found success with them now or seems.

June: 16. +11

Is Vodkablitz back on Klaw or has someone else found success with him? Kingpin runs the show again while Shadowland Daredevil cools down a bit from last month. Overall a good month for Criminal Syndicate.

June: 5. -1

Only 18 games played means Hellfire Club isn't treated to a number by Longshanks.

June: 27. +20

Low play rate for SHIELD but great success for Namor and Nick Fury.

June: 2. -5

A positive record for the Thralls of Dracula gets them into the top 8.

June: 21. +13

Similar amount of games played and similar results for Dark Dimension.

June: 19. +10

Green Goblin posts top tier numbers possibly on the back of the Carnage buff. For the first time in a long time he also beats Ock (who drags the affiliation down heavily) in games played.

June: 8. -2

Guardians of the Galaxy did well, better than in any month after the crisis rotation so far.
My friend and podcast co-host Eusebio 1210 brought them to the Polish GT and went 5:1:1 with them. Congrats to that!

June: 17. +6

Avengers were extremely popular as usual and successful under Steve 1 but Steve 3, untypically Sam and also Hulkbuster couldn't reach 50%.

June: 6. -6

Malekith had a good month and Master of the World posts top tier numbers as per usual for Cabal but both classic leaders drop 2/3 of their decisions.

June: 10. -3

Winter Guard awaits their re releases next year to get to more than 48 games played in a month hopefully. They were at least closer to 50% than most people would have thought.

June: 23. +9

In Asgard Jane posts top tier numbers, Thor scratches 50% but Loki is pretty far from it. They also remain very popular.

June: 13. -2

As was expected Doctor Strange has taken over again as the defacto leader of the Defenders but Daredevil has had better success. The affiliation was also very popular in July.

June: 14. -2

In a historic month Miles Morales is way below 50% win rate and so is the entire Web Warriors affiliation. I can't recall that ever happening before. Luckily six new models are on their way soon.

June: 3. -14

My current War of Kings season Affiliation, the Legion of the Lost, couldn't reach 50/50 in July (I did btw. Had a nail biter win against Brotherhood in round one where Mephisto basically did nothing but flip points and then was utterly destroyed by Goblin led Spider-Foes in round 2. Especially Goblin himself was absolutely on fire that game).

June: 24. +6

For the Midnight Sons Elsa Bloodstone can't seem to find any success but Blade fell to under 50%, too this month which hasn't happened since the monsters dropped last year.

June: 17. -2

Very high numbers in games played for the X-Men and great success under the Professor. None at all under Cyclops and especially Storm though. I think the release of Phoenix might has pushed the numbers of games played here and she is absolutely best fitting into an Xavier led X-Men squad (more on that next week in her box Review).

June: 12. -8

X-Force's games played have steadily declined over the year and they are pretty far off from 50%. It probably also doesn't help that a lot of their best models are also affiliated in Servants of the Apocalypse.

June: 25.+4

For Hydra Red Skull can reach a positive record but the rest can't. Very much a down month after good results in the three months before.

June: 7. -15

We just learned that there's a new Sensational She-Hulk coming but no more info than her model in a cabinet and her most likely name dropped by Will Shick on discord so far. The original She-Hulk and her A-Force didn't enjoy an especially strong month of July.

June: 22. -1

Leader is a leader according to Shick on discord but not clear for which Affiliation. I think it might be a new Gamma Affiliation. I also hope that Red Hulk brings with him a Thunderbolts Leadership, but it seems less likely.

Weapon X were neither popular nor successful in July.

June: 15. -9

Brotherhood, probably on the back of their new models, have seen a return to popularity but not to a lot of success yet.

June: 20. -5

Black Order is barely an Affiliation at the moment even loosing out in games played against Winter Guard.

June: 26. Same

Last place for Sentinels but at least their future is very bright with the updates and four new characters coming in Q1 2026.

June: 28. +1 (because HFC didn't get a number)

 Rated Singel Events (RSE)

The Wizard prove that they've brought it in RSE as well and Convocation claim the top spot here, too.

June: 15. +1

Many more games played and a similarly high win rate for the Servants of the Apocalypse.

June: 1. -1

Black Bolt himself would beat both Convocation and Apoc and has gotten great support from Medusa but is being dragged down to third overall for the Inhumans by Maximus.

June: 3. Same

Incredible 100% percent RSE win rate for IIM! In all of one game played. But Namor and Fury were also great getting SHIELD into the top 4 albeit with very low numbers of games.

June: 4. Same

A fantastic RSE month for all the CS leaders save for MODOK who barely misses 50%.

June: 2. -3

Dormammu and his Dark Dimension had a great month in RSE getting into the top 6 well above 50% win rate.

June: 14. +8

Only a perfectly even 50% for M'Baku this month but King T helps out to finish 7th overall. I think there's also some wins for Wakanda here where we don't know who the leader was as it doesn't add up.

June: 8. +1

Guardians of the Galaxy fared even better in RSE than in AE showing they might have found a grip on the current crisis rotation finally.

June: 12. +4

Above 50% for New Mutants also in RSE not a lot of games played but it's encouraging nonetheless.

June: 17. +8

Clear leaders in games played and just like in AE successful under Steve 1 and not so much under the other three (though Steve 3 and Sam aren't suuuper far of 50/50) are the Avengers.

June: 6. -4

If Green Goblin would have been the only leader for the Spider-Foes he'd have carried them into the top 5. As it stands Ock dragged him down out of the top 10.

June: 5. -6

Hellfire Club went perfectly even 2 and 2 in the 4 games played.

June: 10

Decent months for both Doctor Strange and Daredevil bring the Defenders to a perfectly even 50% in RSE.

June: 20. +8

In a rare occurrence in 2025 Master of the World does not reach 50% but Malekith reaches even 55%. Sin and Red Skull drag the Cabal down to 49% overall though. I'm really surprised about the number of Red Skull 1 games in RSE here to be honest. Might be a Mephisto thing.

June: 10. -3

Hydra Red Skull and Baron Strucker can't reach the highs of Baron Helmut Zemo, who chips in with a perfectly even 1:1 in all of his 2 games played.

June: 9. -5

Below 40 games played and close to, but under 50% wins for Weapon X. Laura did well at least.

June: 18. +3

If we were to believe that 4 games of RSE Winter Guard were played leaderless, Crimson Dynamos numbers would look pretty decent.

June: 23. +7

The fall from grace of Miles Morales is even harder in RSE than in AE with somewhat bottom tier numbers. I have really no explanation as to how that happened.

June: 7. -10

The numbers don't add up for the Brotherhood here with loads of games missing being assigned to a leader (and I think there's very little reason to go leaderless with them) so we can't really say who had the better month. Both leaders are above the overall affiliation percentage which is weird here.

June: 13. -5

What for other affiliations would be considered a down month a 45% win rate in 21 RSE games is quite the achievement for Sentinels.

June: 28. +9

Unlike Dark Dimension Thralls of Dracula seem to have had the most success outside of RSE in July.

June: 22. +2

Very much a down month overall for the Midnight Sons.

June: 19. -2

For the X-Men Professor X can somewhat carry over his AE success but Storm and Cyclops drag the affiliation down.

June: 11. -11

Legion of the Lost miss the 50/50 line by quite a margin in 50 RSE games.

June: 25. +2

All of the Asgard leaders did better in AE than in RSE resulting in a not so good RSE month.

June: 16. -8

A-Force hope that the new She-Hulk is another leader (I wouldn't count on it though).

June: 21. -4

X-Force also need something to happen to them or the meta.

June: 24. -2

There's really no hope for Black Order at the moment.

June: 28. +1 (because HFC didn't get a number)

And a final little shout out to Unaffiliated: don't do it, it doesn't work.

That's it for today.

Cheers from Germany 🍻

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set 2 you h...

Affiliation Overview: Defenders (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders.  On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a tonne of great characters and some variety in play style.  How to start the affiliation Update: In Q2 2025 AMG releases the Defenders affiliation pack which uniquely comes with five models in Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. You have to pick this pack up first and absolutely should.  After that I would first pick up Shang-Chi and Silver Sable followed by Hulk and then Namor and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast. You have your core very much there. The affiliation is very deep and has a lot of good characters but with those mentioned you have your probably most used models in hand already. Also all of the affiliated TTCs. Just note that Pentagrams of Falafel (let me have fun with t...

Affiliation Overview: Midnight Sons (updated rewrite)

Why should you play the affiliation? These are Marvels best Earth based characters. This is a definite objective fact and not just my personal feeling.  They also offer a wide variety of play styles and affiliated models.  How to start the affiliation Update:  Blade, Moon Knight, Doctor Voodoo and Ghost Rider will be combined into a MS affiliation pack, with their current stat cards in all four langues and new art. It releases in April.  Your first purchase here is probably still Blade (leader) and Moon Knight but you could also now start with Elsa Bloodstone (leader) and Man-Thing. Both are good value boxes as both come with a leader and a good affiliated 3 threat. So in the end it's probably best to just get both. Next up you'll want to look at getting a high threat model for which you have 3 options that all have their unique strengths and reasons to be picked. The biggest threat investment but also by far and large his best home comes in the Immortal Hulk. Ghost ...
