October 25 affiliation stats

Welcome to the October stats article. This month saw a tonne of games with all of Second Wind, LVO (the second this year) and of course WTC being held in the month. Let's see how everyone did:

All Events

New Mutants shock everyone and their mum by shooting up to #1. The amount of games is very low of course but that's still quite the feat.

September: 11.+10

Servants of the Apocalypse had a great showing at WTC and of course won the LVO Invitational in the hands of Mike DeLuca. There's few arguments about them being in a league of their own with only one contender in Inhumans.

September: 2. Same

Inhumans have the same claim for top affiliation in the game and their impact overall is probably even bigger. Two weeks until Ministravaganza. Maybe Terrigenesis isn't long for the world?

September: 3. Same

Convocation may be the best Affiliation on no one's radar at the moment.

September: 6. +2

Top 5 spot for Black Order? What is happening? Don't bring back horny, stupid boring guy back to Meta relevancy 😩 In all seriousness, congratulations to the player(s) getting to such a win rate with an affiliation in a very rough state and in meta that's not friendly to them at all.

September: 29. +24

After loosing a lot to my brothers Namor led SHIELD in the last couple of months it felt very good to smash him with Hulk today. Pioneered by Jim Gradwell the double bubble list is very strong though and it shows in its numbers. Without the other leaders Namor and SHIELD would rival Servants and Inhumans.

September: 14. +8

Red Skull put up absolute top tier numbers for Hydra in October but Strucker drags the overall affiliation down.

September: 16. +9

In a complete turnaround from WTC MODOK ends up being the most successful Criminal Syndicate leader of the month (with more than 3 games played) and the affiliation overall did really well.

September: 4. -4

Despite less than great success at WTC Asgard had a pretty strong month overall.

September: 18. +9

The thing everyone is eager to find out: is Web of the Spider-Verse the best leadership in the game? No, it isn't even the best leadership in Web Warriors. It's getting better though.

September: 8. -2

Mystique has found some success to lift Brotherhood of Mutants back into relevancy.

September: 19. +8

Elsa Bloodstone leadership just doesn't seem to work at all for Midnight Sons who far pretty well under Blade still.

September: 5. -7

King T had a very unusual down month and Wakanda overall suffers from it.

September: 1. -12

Thralls of Dracula have gained a solid following usually playing more than 100 games per month and they almost reached 50%.

September: 24. +10

For Avengers the leaders appear to be upside down from the usual. Hulkbuster and Steve 3 had pretty good months while Steve 1 and especially Sam had absolute down months compared to their average. But Steve 1 won the LVO GT and went 5:0 at WTC anyway.

September: 7. -8

As we've become accustomed to Master of World Cabal is a top tier Affiliation but they are hold back by the other three leaders.

September: 21. +5

In a tourn around from WTC Green Goblin overall was the way better Spider-Foes leader during the month.

September: 9. -8

Low amount of games and wins rate for A-Force.

September: 25. +7

Storm has a small resurgence after a terrible year so far for the Uncanny X-Men but Cyclops in way more games was extremely unsuccessful.

September: 23. +4

Dark Dimension had a bit of a down month on terms of popularity and also success.

September: 13. -7

Daredevil seems to make a comeback as Defenders leader but couldn't win at least half of his games, which Doctor Strange could.

September: 15. -6

Legion of the Lost took a deep dive in play rate and the win rate wasn't great either.

September: 12. -10

Guardians of the Galaxy remain popular despite the low win rate. I added a win and a loss here in my current league. The loss being tied to a couple of really bad activations on my own end.

September: 17. -6

60 games with Winter Guard is more than to be expected in a month at the moment. Ministravaganza is coming soon and I think we'll at least see the updates to characters on the 2026 re release schedule so hopefully help is on the way for them.

September: 22. -2

X-Force fans are stoic and still get the affiliation to over 100 games played even though the 50% win rate mark is far out of sight.

September: 20. -6

For Weapon X it's nowadays pretty likely that they actually played the majority of their games leaderless. The leadership is just not very good and fills a spot in your 5 that can be put to better use.

September: 27. Same

Someone must have found enjoyment in the Hellfire Club Affiliation list to get them to 34 games in their current state. It didn't end up working out too great though.

September: 22. -6

Sentinels have help on the way so the new low of an actual 0% win rate for Prime here isn't too concerning anymore.

September: 28. -1

Rated Singels Events

New Mutants show their AE positioning wasn't a fluke with utter dominance in the (very few) RSE games played.

September: 4. +3

Inhumans and especially Black Bolt dominate the game, let's see how long it still lasts.

September: 5. +4

Servants of the Apocalypse are the other "in a league of their own" Affiliation at the moment and sit only very narrowly below the Inhumans.

September: 7. +5

Convocation has to start being on peoples minds again I think. The buffs to both Stranges and Clea appear to have really helped them.

September: 8. +5

Asgard had quite the resurgence this month especially under Loki 2 but all three leaders did will in RSE.

September: 20. +16

Just like with New Mutants the success of Black Order wasn't an AE fluke but proved very real in RSE.

September: 29. +24

Red Skull, Master of Hydra had a fantastic run in RSE as well and helps Hydra into a top 6 spot.

September: 16. +10

RSE sees Kingpin retake the role as Criminal Syndicates best leader but all of them were decent.

September: 2. -5

A down month for King T in RSE just like in AE but it doesn't drag Wakanda down as much here.

September: 1. -7

Namor SHIELD scratches at the 60% win rate in RSE as well and clearly has established himself as The SHIELD leader.

September: 15. +6

Dark Dimension was pretty successful in RSE this month winning one game more than they lost.

September: 12. +2

In RSE Midnight Sons under Blade fared even better than in AE but Elsa couldn't add anything to that.

September: 6. -5

Red Skull 3 had an even better win rate in RSE than in AE. Cabal secretly appears to have a lot of game in the current meta but they aren't popular at all at the moment.

September: 18. +6

Green Goblin Spider-Foes remain a top tier Affiliation in RSE.

September: 11. -2

Doctor Strange had a very good month for Defenders in RSE proving his buff was very meaningful.

September: 13. -2

Individually both leaders of the Brotherhood of Mutants have reached 50% or higher but the numbers don't add up and I do not believe they were played leaderless.

September: 21. +5

While play rate was very low at least the win rate was decent for A-Force in RSE this month.

September: 17. Same

Storm, in very few games, silenced her doubters and went on to win more than 70% of her games. But the other leaders, especially Cyclops, didn't and that's why Uncanny X-Men remain in the bottom half of the standings.

September: 24. +6

Guardians missed the 50/50 mark pretty clearly but are still in striking distance to it.

September: 14. -5

Really a down month for the Avengers as a whole in RSE aside from Hulkbuster randomly being great in his limited games.

September: 9. -11

Really low numbers for the Web Warriors overall which is a big surprise, with no leadership reaching even 50%.

September: 10. -11

Legion of the Lost had few games and were quite a long way away from 50%.

September: 3. -19

After Thralls of Dracula who despite being rather unsuccessful remain popular we have the club of affiliations I have absolutely nothing new to say about.

September: 25. +2

Winter Guard

September: 19. -5

X-Force

September: 28. -3

Weapon X

September: 26. Same

Hellfire Club

September: 27. Same

Sentinels

September: 23. -5

That's it for today.

Cheers from Germany 🍻

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set 2 you h...

Affiliation Overview: Defenders (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders.  On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a tonne of great characters and some variety in play style.  How to start the affiliation Update: In Q2 2025 AMG releases the Defenders affiliation pack which uniquely comes with five models in Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. You have to pick this pack up first and absolutely should.  After that I would first pick up Shang-Chi and Silver Sable followed by Hulk and then Namor and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast. You have your core very much there. The affiliation is very deep and has a lot of good characters but with those mentioned you have your probably most used models in hand already. Also all of the affiliated TTCs. Just note that Pentagrams of Falafel (let me have fun with t...

Affiliation Overview: Midnight Sons (updated rewrite)

Why should you play the affiliation? These are Marvels best Earth based characters. This is a definite objective fact and not just my personal feeling.  They also offer a wide variety of play styles and affiliated models.  How to start the affiliation Update:  Blade, Moon Knight, Doctor Voodoo and Ghost Rider will be combined into a MS affiliation pack, with their current stat cards in all four langues and new art. It releases in April.  Your first purchase here is probably still Blade (leader) and Moon Knight but you could also now start with Elsa Bloodstone (leader) and Man-Thing. Both are good value boxes as both come with a leader and a good affiliated 3 threat. So in the end it's probably best to just get both. Next up you'll want to look at getting a high threat model for which you have 3 options that all have their unique strengths and reasons to be picked. The biggest threat investment but also by far and large his best home comes in the Immortal Hulk. Ghost ...
