Guessing the Affiliations for the confirmed 2026 releases

Merry Christmas!
Just a fun little prediction article today where I try and guess the Affiliations for the characters we know are coming in 2026. And I'll also include my predictions for the full list of Mighty Avengers, X-Factor and Thunderbolts at the end. I'll also give my personal hype level for each new character.

If I mark something in red, it means that this is something that was basically confirmed by AMG staff or the Asmodee store site. So it's not my fault if it ends up not being true ๐Ÿ˜

And to make it clear again: I don't have any inside knowledge about this stuff I just take educated guesses here. But it's going to be fun to check back with this article over the coming year.

Coming out in January Blue Marvel and Spectrum, who will be the leader, introduce the new Mighty Avengers affiliation. So they'll both be affiliated there and Blue Marvel is also going to be a Defender.

My personal hype level for these two is pretty low to be honest as I don't really know much about them. Blue Marvel I've actually never seen in any comic and Monica I know a lot more from the MCU than the comics. Gonna be interesting to see if their cards can make up for it.

We'll do the Affiliation list at the end of the article.

Blue Marvel:

Affiliations: Mighty Avengers, Defenders

Personal Hype Level evel: D

Spectrum:

Affiliations: Mighty Avengers (leader),  A-Force

Personal Hype Level: C (new leaderships are always interesting)

Iron Lad is a character whose existence I was not really aware of. His card looks very good and he's going to be staple in his Affiliations I think.

Affiliations: Young Avengers

Hype Level: B for his stat card, C- for the character

Iron Monger is an amazing sculpt, with a great stat card for a character I don't care much about in the comics once again.

Affiliations: Criminal Syndicate, Cabal (both basically confirmed by Shick)

Hype Level: A (B+ for playing, A+ for building and painting this awesome mini, C- for the character)

Pepper Pots comes with head options (I will very likely choose the helmeted version) and has a really unique suite of abilities. She's going to be very interesting on the board.

Affiliations: A-Force, Avengers, maybe SHIELD?

Hype Level: C+. Not really into healers personally but I will try it and maybe fall in love with her after all.

Kang's mini looks fantastic and he is confirmed to have options in terms of the mini and a Cabal Leadership in terms of his card.

Affiliations: Cabal (leadership)

Hype Level: A. I'm really looking forward to a new Cabal Leadership as I really like the faction in theory but never came to terms with any of the other leaders so far...

Adams card doesn't scream 7 threat at first view but I'm ultra committed to play 10 games with his leadership and will pick him up the second he's available for me. His sculpt is also amazing.

Affiliations: Guardians of the Galaxy (card leadership)

Hype Level: S+

My favorite lesbian power couple Moondragon and Quasar come in Adams box and since they are both members of the original Abnett and Lanning Guardians of the Galaxy it's safe to say I would've picked up their box even if it didn't include Adam Warlock and a new Leadership on it's release day (at my German seller which might be later than the set release date...).

Moondragon:

Affiliations: Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers

Hype Level: S

Quasar:

Affiliations: Guardians of the Galaxy

Hype Level: S

New Asgardians will always have my attention since even with my 30 Guardians Games this year Asgard is still my most overall played team and has a dear spot in my heart. The Warriors Three are something we've been expecting for a long time and a mounted Valkyrie was surely a surprising but awesome inclusion. We've seen Valks card and she looks like a tonne of fun to play. Midnight Sons will really like her.

Warriors Three:

Affiliations: Asgard

Hype Level: A

Valkyrie and Elendil:

Affiliations: Asgard, Defenders?

Hype Level: A

I've seen X-Men 97. I read the Fall of Krakoa (couldn't get to it from start to back, it's just way to many comics). Bastion is the main villain of the former, Nimrod and Omega Sentinel together with MODOK and Orchid in the latter. These are awesome. Also look at those sculpts and Omega Sentinel even has built options.

Bastion:

Affiliations: Sentinels (leader)

Hype Level: B+

Nimrod:

Affiliations: Sentinels

Hype Level: A

Omega Sentinel:

Affiliations: Sentinels

Hype Level: B

I'm obviously excited for new crisis cards but this is solely about the Prime Sentinels that come along those. These are confirmed to be lower threat and have the same "can be taken twice" rule as the MK4s.

Affiliations: Sentinels

Hype Level: B-

The Gamma pack.

The Leader:

Affiliations: Cabal, Criminal Syndicate, Hydra

Hype Level: B

Red Hulk:

Affiliations: Thunderbolts (leader), Cabal, Avengers

Hype Level: A

Sensational She-Hulk:

Affiliations: A-Force (hopefully leader), Mighty Avengers, SHIELD

Hype Level: B+

Since I haven't played the Marvel vs. Capcom fighting games I don't really know who Onslaught is. I've learned he's some sort of mind fusioned Magneto and Charles Xavier and is one of the end bosses in the fighting game. His mini is also supposed to be absolutely massive.

Affiliations: Brotherhood of Mutants, Cabal

Hype Level: D+

The 2026 Halloween pack! I hope they keep doing that at least biyearly.

The Orb:

Affiliations: Cabal, Criminal Syndicate

Hype Level: B+

Blackheart:

Affiliations: Legion of the Lost (he is Mephistos son after all), not sure how that would work with the current LotL leadership but maybe he can be an alternative leader. Cabal

Hype Level: A

Jack O'Latern:

Affiliations: Spider-Foes, Criminal Syndicate

Hype Level: A

The young Avengers will join the game as a pretty fleshed out affiliation in a way dew others have in the past with this and the next pack.

Wiccan:

Affiliations: Convocation (fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž), Young Avengers

Hype Level: B

Hulkling:

Affiliations: Young Avengers (leader)

Hype Level: B-

Speed:

Affiliations: Young Avengers

Hype Level: C

America Chavez:

Affiliations: A-Force (leader), Young Avengers

Hype Level: B-

Patriot:

Affiliations: Young Avengers

Hype Level: C- (I don't know him at all)

Kate Bishop:

Affiliations: Young Avengers, SHIELD

Hype Level: B

The pack that introduces X-Factor as a new Mutant affiliation is definitely another one of my most anticipated.

Dani Moonstar:

Affiliations: New Mutants, Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor

Hype Level: A

Havoc:

Affiliations: X-Factor (leader), Hellfire Club, Uncanny X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy

Hype Level: A

Jubilee:

Affiliations: Uncanny X-Men, X-Factor, New Mutants

Hype Level: B

Multiple Man:

Affiliations: X-Factor (leader), Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants, Brotherhood of Mutants?

New Affiliation Lists:

The Mighty Avengers

Characters (7)
Blue Marvel (?)
* Spectrum (?)
Luke Cage (3)
* Blade (4)
* Captain America (Sam Wilson) (3)
* She-Hulk (6)
Spider-Man (Peter Parker) (4)

And Sensational She-Hulk will be added once she's released

Thunderbolts:

Characters (6)
* Red Hulk (?)
Deadpool (3)
Agent Venom (4)
Elektra (4)
Ghost Rider (5)
Punisher (3)

Decent chance that some more characters could also end up here.

X-Factor:

Characters (11)
* Havoc (?)
* Multiple Man (?)
Dani Moonstar (?)
Jubilee (?)
* Mystique (3)
Quicksilver (3)
Sabretooth (4)
Sunspot (4)
Pyro (3)
Avalanche (3)
The Blob (3)

I took the Krakoan era team X-Corps into consideration here too, so take the last three characters here with an extra grain of salt.

That's it for today. You can tell me why I'm wrong about everything here on my Discord server ๐Ÿ˜€

Cheers from Germany ๐Ÿป

Affiliation Overview: Spider-Foes (2026 update)

Why should you play the affiliation  Are you a somewhat of a scientist yourself? Do you like crushing arachnids? Do you love making overly complicated plans and see them ruined by a teenager?  Spider-Foes are a super fun faction, which boosts the best looking line of miniatures in the game and a very fun and unique play style with tricks and traps.  How to start the affiliation  As long as it's available you absolutely start with the Spider-Foes Starter set. It's the so gle best deal in MCP and probably all of tabletop wargaming.  The only characters you're missing out of the affiliation after that are:  Kingpin (available in the Criminal Syndicate Affiliation pack, which is a good additional pick up after the starter set)  Doctor Octopus (available in the Spider-Foes Affiliation Pack or Rivals Panel)  Doc Ock, Sinister Scientist (available in the Earth Mightiest Core Set, a good additional pick up if you need terrain) Venom (currently de f...

Affiliation Overview: Defenders (2026 Update)

Why should you play the affiliation  Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders.  On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a ton of great characters and some variety in play style.  How to start the affiliation The necessary first buy is the Defenders Affiliation pack, containing Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.  Next I would look at the Hard to Hit character pack with Namor, Shang-Chi, Silver Sable and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast, who are all affiliated. And if you want to bring the currently competitively strongest version of Defenders to the table, you'll have to pick up Blue Marvel and Spectrum (unaffiliated).  What leaderships are available and what is the typical game plan?  Since his May 2025 Update Doctor Stranges leadership Judgement of the Vishanti is pretty cool and pretty st...

The August Update part 1

I don't think we'll need an intro for these ๐Ÿ˜… here are my takes on part 1 of the character updates:  Abomination :  injured side art update only  Adam Warlock :  Injured side art update only  Agent Venom :  Already a favorite character to play of mine the increase to above average 7/7 makes him an excellent piece in all of his (many) affiliated homes.  A  Amazing Spider-Man :  ASM has already been very hard to take off the board and 7/7 makes him nigh invincible. His problem has always been list lackluster damage output and he's got no news there.  B  Ancient One :  7/6 might make her more interesting now but she struggles with competition in the 4 threat slot where Defenders have a giant pool of options. She could have a comeback in Convocation maybe.  B- Angel :  Angel already had the markings of a great objective runner and with respectable 6/6 now he is far better at fulfilling that role.  B+ Angela :...
