November 25 affiliation stats

Welcome to the November stats article. Having had Ministravaganza and all the changes it brought with it right in the middle of the month means we basically combine two different meta states here and some trends may prove themselves true or false in December.
As always All Events (AE) first and Rated Singles Events (RSE) further down.

Inhumans had an extra good month with all three leaders posting top tier numbers. It's going to be interesting if the changes will affect them or not in the long run but in the various post Ministravaganza podcast interviews AMG clearly said there looking at Terrigenesis and if it might get rotated soon.

October: 3. +2

Convocation enjoy the reduction of throw damage very much and are very flexible in their roster build so the new crisis selection process serves them well, too. And the numbers show it. Also Wiccan is very very likely going to be a new member for the Affiliation soon.

October: 4. +2

So far nothing has stopped Apocalypse and while getting their desired 17 is a bit harder to do now, overall all of the changes and character buffs positively affect Apocalypse. We'll see where it all lands.

October: 2. -1

Dormammu already saw good success lately and his buff certainly was a helping factor for a top 4 finish for Dark Dimension in November. He's also a great addition to a roster not focused mainly on him but using him as a pivot in specific situations, as the cost reward balance is very good there.

October: 20. +16

Hellfire Club is back! I've played one game with new Emma in Cyclops X-Men and she was great fun. It seems some people have found that, too and even made her band of "Mutants that hope their repacks give them a boost" Affiliation work.

October: 28. +23

Wakandas main kill plan definitely took a hit from the new crisis selection process but it didn't stop them putting in top tier numbers anyway.

October: 13. +7

Hydra flies under the radar for most people but continues to put up top numbers especially under Red Skull 2, who hopes to stay off the repacking list for as long as possible as I don't think his Grunts would come out of that unnerfed.

October: 7. Same

Nice to see New Mutants do so well. Emma Frost has definitely become a decent 4 threat option for them now.

October: 1. -7

Dominating month for MODOK 2, a great one for Kingpin but not so much for SLDD. Overall I still think the flexibility of CS has them well positioned for the new meta.

October: 8. -1

Spider-Verse has taken over as the most played, but not most successful, leadership for the Web Warriors, who were popular as expected and that number is only going to increase when the new boxes are finally available everywhere. ASM has also gained a little more popularity but without consistent success.

October: 10. Same

SHIELD is super flexible and thus well positioned in the meta while they also enjoy the average throw damage coming down as they themselves have very few throwing models. The buffs to Agent Widow, Hawkeye and of course Nick Fury are also all pure upside.

October: 6. -5

I like the new crisis selection process a lot for Blade led Midnight Sons who have a lot more tricks up their sleeves than just center brawling with iHulk. I always liked wide spread secures for them, where you can use Bump to out run your opponent and then the center fights are still something you're good at if you have to do it. It did work out well for Blade over the month but Elsa is struggling a lot.

October: 12. Same

Asgard is definitely going to be an Affiliation to look out for in the future. While their damage output certainly took a hit they still have the advantage of more stuff they can throw and many character throws. They are also very flexible in what kind of crisises they can play og the roster is built for it. In November they came out exactly even in their win rate with Thor 1 having a particularly good month.

October: 9. -4

Red Skull 3 once again put up absolute top tier numbers and Malekith had a good month as well but Sin and especially RS1 dragged down the overall numbers for the Cabal in November.

October: 16. +2

A surprisingly high number of games played with the leadership for Weapon X and pretty close to a 50% win rate in those.

October: 27. +12

Mephisto rejoices about the throw damage changes as it was the most reliable way to deal with him before. Legion of the Lost had a decent month, too.

October: 22. +6

Brotherhood of Mutants are definitely flexible enough to enjoy the new crisis selection process but if the throw changes end up being a boost or a nerf for Magneto remains to be seen. It seems to definitely have increased his popularity if not his win rate.

October: 11. -6

Not the best month for Defenders as a whole who miss the 50% mark pretty clearly.

October: 21. +3

Thralls of Dracula were very popular with 125 games played, topping Legion of the Lost clearly and Dark Dimension barely to be the most played "everyone is in" Affiliation of the month. But in turn it was the least successful of the three.

October: 13. -6

A-Force were comparatively popular in November but it didn't translate into too much success.

October: 18. -2

Not a particularly great month for the Spider-Foes. Goblin has firmly taken over the role as main leader again but the win rate is the same for him and Ock 2.

October: 17. -4

Sentinels see a big boost in play rate and getting to 46% is already a huge improvement for them and more good things are on the horizon still.

October: 29. +7

Guardians of the Galaxy sport very high numbers of games played. They'll need to, and I think they can, adapt their style and list to the new meta to see more success.

October: 23. Same

X-Men can't get out of the cellar in the current meta and can only hope that the next crisis rotation will help them. In spite of their very limited success at the moment I would imagine play rate will rise a lot when the new single person starter set is finally released.

October: 19. -5

A heavy fall from grace for Steve 1 led Avengers dropping all the way to 41%. The new priority roll might have gotten a pretty big impact on the typical charge list. Sam was fantastic in his limited games but Steve 3 also didn't have a great month. Hulkbusters leadership certainly has gotten better as reducing all throw damage to 2 is quite a big deal now. It's still going to be situational and plain and simply not in the same league as the other three available leaderships here and while I'm probably higher on Hulkbuster as a model in itself he's far from an every game piece. But seeing Steve 1 do so (comparatively) poorly this month has me feeling better for switching to Avengers as my competitive roster for the rest of this and start of next year until (regular readers will already know this) I can play Adam Warlock leadership Guardians.

October: 15. -10

Winter Guard have their sights set on Adepticon which is most likely where we'll get the next wave of updates which should include their re release pack. Until then playing them remains an uphill battle.

October: 24. -2

X-Force might see a little boost from the new crisis selection process as they can be pretty adaptable but it remains to be seen. It hasn't helped them a lot so far it seems.

October: 26. -1

Black Order were hoping Adam Warlock would bring a full rework of the Infinity Gems, as AMG staff definitely made it sound that way, but were disappointed to hear that not going to be the case...

October: 5. -23

Rated Singles Events

Convocation magics their way all the way to the top.

October: 3. +2

Black Bolt dominates as usual but Medusa and the few games she played absolutely annihilated the opposition for the Inhumans.

October: 1. -1

Sporting huge numbers in play rate and win rate is no surprise for the Servants of the Apocalypse at this point.

October: 2. -1

Seeing Dark Dimension in the top 4 is no surprise here. Dormammu should never be the best thing in the game but he's now definitely a top tier contender.

October: 10. +6

It's going to be interesting to see whether or not Wakandas ein rate will be impacted by the new rules. So far it hasn't stopped them from being a top 5 team.

October: 8. +3

Red Skull 2, who went 3:0 at the tournament I ran last week, has had a great month and helps Hydra to a top 6 finish in November.

October: 6. Same

A great month for Kingpin helps counter acting a below 50% for Shadowland Daredevil, ending in a 53% overall win rate in many games played for Criminal Syndicate.

October: 7. Same

Web of the Spider-Verse has taken over main leadership for the Web Warriors in RSE, too but Miles remains the most successful leadership for them here as well.

October: 21. +13

In RSE Defenders enjoyed a much better month than in AE, reaching a positive win rate in still a lot of games.

October: 15. +6

Malekith and Red Skull 3 had rock star numbers for Cabal in RSE. Sin was at least close to 50% but Red Skull 1 was absolutely terrible.

October: 12. +2

Thor 1 and Jane carry Asgard, which struggled a bit under Loki 2, to an exactly even win rate, in relatively few games played overall in RSE.

October: 4. -7

A surprisingly high amount of games without a tracked leader for Midnight Sons which is weird in RSE. It leads to the assumption that Blade didn't do as well as his tracked stats imply. Elsa continues to struggle.

October: 11. -1

61 RSE games and a 50% win rate is a giant improvement for the Sentinels so the buffs seem to have been worth it.

October: 28. +16

Legion of the Lost scratched at the 50% mark in their 67 RSE games. So someone must have found decent success with a build there.

October: 22. +8

SHIELD under Namor appear to have taken a little hit from where they were before the new rules but remain in striking distance. iTony had an absolutely terrible month going 0:6.

October: 9. -6

Brotherhood get to within striking distance of the 50% mark and their flexibility could be very handy in the new meta. It remains to be seen if Magneto ends up being more or less scary than before the throw damage changes.

October: 16. Same

Barely any games played with Weapon X in RSE but surprisingly almost all of them with the leadership and X-23 absolutely dominating in hers.

October: 26. +9

Storm was the best RSE leader for X-Men weirdly and Professor X the least successful.

October: 18. Same

Almost 100 games in RSE for Thralls of Dracula and well below 50% win rate but not miles away.

October: 23. +4

Oh sorry for the double inclusion of Thralls.

A-Force might see a boost from the new crisis selection process especially in a dual affiliated roster for example with Steve 1 Avengers as that's really easy to do. So that She-Hulk only comes out in the match ups she likes. That hasn't happened yet though.

October: 17. -3

New Mutants weren't terrible in their limited games but also not especially great.

October: NA (1). -20

Spider-Foes can just barely cling on to the accepted 45% win rate in RSE in November and Doc Ock doesn't even reach that. It's going to be interesting how they'll be able to adapt to the new meta.

October: 13. -9

A fantastic month in RSE for Sam is counter acted by both Steves having rather bad months for the Avengers who were the most played affiliation in RSE of the month by quite a margin.

October: 20. -3

If X-Men live in the cellar this year X-Force lives in an underground bunker below that cellar. And it's still hard to pinpoint exactly what is wrong with them as they are an Affiliation filled with good models, but somehow it doesn't come together.

October: 25. +1

Guardians of the Galaxy need to reinvent themselves for the new meta I think. I didn't help the stats here personally going 1:2 at the tournament I ran (even though the third game was extremely close).

October: 19. -6

I think the numbers of Hellfire Club will rise again with new and much improved Emma and there's more than likely changes to other affiliated models on the horizon, to further improve the faction.

October: 27. +1

Playing as Winter Guard in RSE is only for absolute lovers of the faction and there aren't a lot of those.

October: 24. -3

Black Order can barely be even considered to be in the game at all at this point and nothing currently indicates any positive changes in the near future for them.

October: 5. -23

Affiliation Overview: Defenders (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders.  On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a tonne of great characters and some variety in play style.  How to start the affiliation Update: In Q2 2025 AMG releases the Defenders affiliation pack which uniquely comes with five models in Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. You have to pick this pack up first and absolutely should.  After that I would first pick up Shang-Chi and Silver Sable followed by Hulk and then Namor and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast. You have your core very much there. The affiliation is very deep and has a lot of good characters but with those mentioned you have your probably most used models in hand already. Also all of the affiliated TTCs. Just note that Pentagrams of Falafel (let me have fun with t...

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set 2 you h...

Affiliation Overview: Uncanny X-Men (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  X-Men are far and away the most popular Marvel part after the overall most popular character in the world (Spider-Man). They are not only a favourite of the community but also clearly of AMG being the faction with the most build options for their characters.  On the table they are super flexible, have a huge list of affiliated models and very strong TTCs.  How to start the affiliation  Update: from October 2025 AMG releases new single Person starter sets. One of them is the X-Men starter set:  Aside from the ten characters it also contains ten dice and the measuring tools. The X-Men starter (which is a Brotherhood of Mutants starter at the same time) is a permanent addition to the line up, whereas the Spider-Foes one will only he sold for a limited time.  The new starter set is absolutely the perfect first purchase for X-Men but until then the X-Men affiliation pack is the best starting point giving you two of you...
