December 25 affiliation stats

Happy new Year! 🎊

Welcome to the December 25 stats article. As always we look at All Events (AE) first and Rated Singles Events (RSE) further down.

Servants of the Apocalypse are the unquestioned number 1 in the game. All the recent changes have helped them and they remain popular and successful as a result.

November: 3. +2

Not super many games played but extremely successful were the New Mutants.

November: 8. +6

SHIELD has seen a huge improvement in terms of popularity and Namor (who led them in 3/4 of the games played) has rewarded that trust with an incredible 60% win rate.

November: 11. +7

Dark Dimension really loved the buffs to Dormammu and even beat out Servants of the Apocalypse in terms of games played while the win rate isn't much worse either. I would be extremely surprised if the majority of teams for the AtB Team Championship in January wouldn't include Dormammu somewhere.

November: 4. Same

With their new packs finally available everywhere Web Warriors were ultra popular scratching on the 500 games mark. Most of the games were played under the Spider-Verse (non) leadership but Miles was still more successful. But even ASM was well over 50% showing Webs will be an absolute force of nature again.

November: 10. +5

Classic Black Panther and also Killmonger, Usurper help Wakanda, led by a good month from M'Baku, to another good month.

November: 6. Same

The next big surprise are the Guardians of the Galaxy at number 7 in close to 270 games played. Guardians are super flexible and overall like the changes to the game and it shows in their win rate.

November: 23. +16

While Shadowland Daredevil isn't faring too well at the moment, Kingpin, MODOK and the Criminal Syndicate overall were doing well in December. Even Klaw, for whom it is much easier to get a crisis combination he likes, had a good month in his few games.

November: 9. +1

Winter Guard make a surprise visit to the top 9. Once again it's probably easier for them to avoid their worst crisis combinations now, helping them a lot.

November: 26. +17

Professor X leads the X-Men to a top 10 spot with absolute top tier numbers which eben survive Storms and Cyclops' low won rates.

November: 24. +14

Doc Ock had an absolutely bottom tier month but Green Goblin did well enough for the Spider-Foes to get close to 50%.

November: 21. +10

Convocation miss the 50% mark but just barely. They really like the changes to collision damage but maybe the crisis selection process has affected them negatively? 🤔

November: 2. -10

Oh how the mighty have fallen! Seeing Black Bolt sit below 50% win rate is a real big surprise here. It appears that the crisis selection process has severely limited his game plan. And even with good months from Maximus and Medusa it has Inhumans plummeting all the way down to 13.

November: 1. -12

Weirdly Steve 3 had a great month for the Avengers while the other three leaders struggled heavily.

November: 25. +11

Emma's buff has put Hellfire Club, which will also get buffs to multiple members come Adepticon, back on the map with over 100 games played in December. And they could at least see the 50% mark in those games.

November: 5. -10

A rather bad month for Loki 2 can't be counter acted by Jane or Thor 1 enough to get Asgard to 50%. The announcement that Thor 2 will get readjusted again has them optimistic for the future though.

November: 13. -3

We know She-Hulk will soon move to 10/10 Stamina at the very least and Rescue will be a new affiliated option at 3 threat so while currently A-Force aren't doing great help is definitely on the way.

November: 17. +3

Under Daredevil Defenders did really quite well but Doctor Strange did struggle as a leader in December. It is probably easier nowadays to lock him into a crisis he doesn't like.

November: 18. Same

The buffed Sentinels are eagerly awaiting their four new models but have already skyrocketed in popularity even though the numbers (while definitely improved) haven't been super great yet.

November: 22. +3

Getting out of the very bottom can sadly be seen as a successful month for Black Order at the moment who have basically nothing giving them hope at the moment...

November: 28. +8

Decent months from Malekith and Master of the World are counter acted by terrible ones from Sin and original Red Skull for a bad overall finish for Cabal.

November: 14. -7

We've all been eager to find out how the collision changes have affected Brotherhood and apparently: it hasn't dramatically changed anything one way or the other so far. Magneto still sits close but under 50% and Mystique had a down month on top of it.

November: 17. -5

Thralls of Dracula weren't super successful in December. Dracula has bad crisis setups and it's probably much more difficult nowadays to play a mono Thralls list effectively.

November: 19. -4

Barely any games played with Weapon X and those that did mostly used the leadership which AtB Jaime would heavily advice you against.

November: 15. -9

Maybe the biggest or second biggest surprise here Midnight Sons find themselves absolutely down in the dumpster. Elsa has struggled heavily ever since her release but Blade usually put up top tier numbers. December has not been kind to the Halloween Affiliation this year.

November: 12. -13

Baron Strucker drags Hydra down a lot with really terrible numbers that Red Skull 2, even with good help from Zemo 2, can't equalize.

November: 7. -19

Legion of the Lost hadn't really found a footing in the old meta and it's not looking any better now.

November: 16. -11

X-Force is finally loosing their cult following when they drift down to obscurity even more. Cat and Mouse, their best play, has taken a hit from the new priority roll and they've already been a bottom tier faction the entire year anyway.

November: 27. -1

These look super healthy so it appears AMG has taken the right path.

Rated Singles Events (RSE)

There was simply no way Servants of the Apocalypse wouldn't dominate in RSE as well.

November: 3. +2

Wakanda had its best games of the month in RSE it seems and claims second place.

November: 5. +3

Dark Dimension is a top 3 RSE Affiliation and I would be surprised to see them falling out of the top 5 before the next crisis rotation.

November: 4. +1

New Mutants had a fantastic month in RSE, too, albeit with pretty few games played.

November: 21. +17

In RSE Web of the Spider-Verse was finally able to outplay Miles for the best Web Warriors win rate but both have been good while Peter was at least close to 50%.

November: 8. +3

Convocation had a good month in RSE, so maybe they weren't as affected by the changes after all.

November: 1. -5

Guardians great AE month wasn't a fluke and they were able to perform at a high level in RSE as well.

November: 25. +18

A positive record and a top 8 sport for Black Order? Sure it's only 21 games played but having won 11 of them is really surprising given the state of BO at the moment.

November: 28. +20

Namor didn't quite dominate as much in RSE as he did in AE but still had a good month here too, which helps SHIELD into the top 9.

November: 15. +6

Criminal Syndicate rounds out the top 10 in RSE with a great month from MODOK and Kingpin.

November: 7. -3

Professor X was absolutely top tier for the X-Men in RSE as well, while Storm and Cyclops had the same struggles as in AE.

November: 18. +7

Green Goblin could hang with the best leaders but Doc Ock drags the Spider-Foes down a lot with a truly terrible month.

November: 22. +10

100 RSE games in the month and 50% win rate is a huge improvement for the Sentinels who are only bound to become even better after their next releases.

November: 12. -1

Malekith and Red Skull 3 dominated but Red Skull 1 was dominated himself dragging down the stats for the Cabal.

November: 10. -4

Thralls of Dracula did surprisingly well in RSE getting really close to 50%.

November: 19. +4

A great month for Jane Foster didn't get the necessary support from Thor and Loki for Asgard to have a positive record.

November: 11. -5

While Hellfire Club was much more popular than before the Emma buff in AE people are still reluctant to play it in RSE. And I can definitely see why. Emma is great now but many of the other affiliated characters wait for their buffs still and the affiliation doesn't have any cards.

November: 26. +9

The fall of the Inhumans has been even steeper here as in AE because Maximus also had a negative record while Black Bolt did, just like in AE.

November: 2. -16

An absolutely incredible month for Red Skull 2 is counter acted by a terrible one for Baron Strucker that drags Hydra to well under 50%.

November: 6. -13

Interestingly both Sam and Hulkbuster get to 50% for the Avengers while Steve 1 and 3 miss the mark in significantly more games played.

November: 23. +3

Winter Guard miss the 50% mark in RSE pretty clearly.

November: 27. +6

Mystique had a much better month for the Brotherhood of Mutants in RSE than AE while Magento was exactly the same.

November: 16. -6

Daredevil was even better and Strange even worse for Defenders in RSE in December as in AE.

November: 9. -14

A-Force weren't good but help for the girls is incoming.

November: 20. -4

Midnight Sons had a month to forget.

November: 12. -13

X-Force

November: 24. -2

Legion of the Lost

November: 14. -13

Weapon X

November: 17. -11

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set 2 you h...

Affiliation Overview: Defenders (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders.  On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a tonne of great characters and some variety in play style.  How to start the affiliation Update: In Q2 2025 AMG releases the Defenders affiliation pack which uniquely comes with five models in Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. You have to pick this pack up first and absolutely should.  After that I would first pick up Shang-Chi and Silver Sable followed by Hulk and then Namor and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast. You have your core very much there. The affiliation is very deep and has a lot of good characters but with those mentioned you have your probably most used models in hand already. Also all of the affiliated TTCs. Just note that Pentagrams of Falafel (let me have fun with t...

Affiliation Overview: Uncanny X-Men (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  X-Men are far and away the most popular Marvel part after the overall most popular character in the world (Spider-Man). They are not only a favourite of the community but also clearly of AMG being the faction with the most build options for their characters.  On the table they are super flexible, have a huge list of affiliated models and very strong TTCs.  How to start the affiliation  Update: from October 2025 AMG releases new single Person starter sets. One of them is the X-Men starter set:  Aside from the ten characters it also contains ten dice and the measuring tools. The X-Men starter (which is a Brotherhood of Mutants starter at the same time) is a permanent addition to the line up, whereas the Spider-Foes one will only he sold for a limited time.  The new starter set is absolutely the perfect first purchase for X-Men but until then the X-Men affiliation pack is the best starting point giving you two of you...
