April 26 Affiliation Stats

Welcome to the April 26 stats article and first of please excuse the delay. I was away on a family trip last weekend and didn't have the time or the head to write.

Regular readers will know the drill: first we cover All Events (AE) and further down Rated Singles Events (RSE).

To compare results you can check out the March 26 stats article.

All Events AE:

Simsala Bam. Convocation casts it's was all the way to the top. The kick in the nuts of seeing (not even confirmed to be affiliated) Wiccans planned release to be in 2027 has apperantly made them so angry that they won an enormous 65% of their games.

Namor is fair and balanced and doesn't need touches in the June Updates. Or something like that. SHIELD will also most likely love the new crisis rotation.

Apocalypse is going to have his leadership adjusted "slightly but in a meaningful way". He enjoys his time in the sun as long as it lasts.

Logan the Wolverine and Weapon X dominate the game! These numbers aren't OK anymore please AMG do something here! (I'm joking obviously).

Speaking of fair and balanced, Adam Warlock is absolutely fine and he and his Bonded Soul Gem don't need looking at in any way shape or form thank you very much. In all honesty he will probably suffer a bit from the new crisis rotation as having any extract you can take multiple of on him feels simply unfair. Those will be gone from Challenger come June 12th and he also doesn't really like Source Extracts either. Having just now finished a game with him on the new Extract Supplies I can say that one is probably his new favorite.
Guardians also absolutely dominated in terms of games played and Peter was at least competent in his games (which were still more than many other affiliations had in total).
.

Criminal Syndicate beat out even Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of games played and the vast majority of them were unsurprisingly played with Adepticon winner Kingpin.

Dark Dimension get their usual about 100 games per month that have them a bit, but safely, over 50% win rate.

Web Warriors also had a high number of games played and Miles was fantastic and Peter Parker good but Web of the Spider-Verse definitely had a down month.

Baron Strucker had a surprisingly good month for Hydra. I play him in our Spin The Wheel Season for our German speaking TTS league and would love to report that I had something to do with the high win rate but alas I am just 1:1 so far with the win even coming in a preseason test game. In my first league game against Daredevil led Defenders he was KOed at the top of round 2 and I never got to use the leadership even once... In the test game against Elsa Bloodstone Midnight Sons he was great at least. Next game is against Medusa Inhumans so that's going to be interesting. Red Skull Master of Hydra had an untypical bad month for Hydra.

Pre her buff She-Hulk and A-Force are still able to hang and reached the top 10 with staying slightly above 50%.

It took him some time (but he's of course the master of that) but Kang has absolutely found his footing and has become The Cabal leader both in terms of games played and win rate.

Asgard has had a decent comeback month without making much of a splash but all three leaders stayed at or above 50% which is good to see.

While very popular and extremely strong in the right situations Doctor Strange Defenders boost good but not amazing numbers and Daredevil was at least not terrible in his quarter of the games.

Seeing Magneto at a solid 50% for Brotherhood of Mutants is nice and probably means that he ultimately did benefit from the collision changes. Mystique was decent as well.

Mighty Avengers have slipped a bit since their release. They are still relatively popular but I guess people have figured out to play against them better now and Blue Marvel fans have probably switched to Defenders.

Inhumans have fallen from the top quite heavily this month and they absolutely dropped in popularity as well.

Speaking of popularity Legion of the Lost did not even reach 50 games which is very low even for their standard.

Hulkbuster, pre his big update, is leading the charge for the Avengers here with Sam being decent as usual and both Steves struggling.

Wakanda has fallen off completely on April with a 46% win rate and a meager 65 games played.

Blade has redeemed himself a bit getting back to 50% but as usual Elsa Bloodstone drags the numbers down to well under 50% for the Midnight Sons.

Spider-Foes continue to struggle at the moment. It's going to be interesting if the next crisis rotation will have a positive effect on them. The set seems pretty mid-range overall and that's where Foes could thrive.

X-Men were popular as always and where Professor X has posted decent numbers Storm and especially Cyclops, who is somehow still the most popular leader, continue to struggle heavily.

66 would have been the perfect number of games for Mephistos Legion of the Lost but alas it's Thralls of Dracula and with a pretty low win rate at that.

X-Force desperately await changes in the meta though I'm not sure they will actually help them...

New Mutants ride the rollercoaster maybe more than any other Affiliation. They have absolutely fantastic months followed by being near the very bottom of the standings. Their play rate is also extremely low.

I'm pretty sure about 50 games were played with Bastion leadership for Sentinels before he was an option to choose in Longshanks. If true that would mean that he was significantly better than the officially tracked 5 games would suggest. Sentinel Prime did not have a good month though.

Absolutely no luck for Winter Guard. A lot of the new Secures are fighty ones so maybe that, and hopefully some buffs from the character updates will breathe some life into them.

Hellfire Club want their updates badly.

Thanos actually didn't have a terrible (still not great mind you) month of April for Black Order but a solid 0:11:0 for Corvus put a nail in the coffin for the affiliation here.

Rated Singles Events (RSE)

In RSE there's still no way around the Servants of the Apocalypse. And on first look they should also like the new crisis rotation. But we do know that the leadership will be touched in some way come June.

iTony and Namor run the show but Fury also had top tier numbers for SHIELD.

Guardians firmly back in the top 3 mostly at the back of a dominant month from Adam Warlock but Star-Lord was decent in his own right.

Convocation loose a few spots compared to AE but we're still strong in RSE.

Miles Morales leads the charge for the Web Warriors in RSE as well though Spider-Verse wasn't as bad here.

Dark Dimension are just solidly in the top 10 and are unlikely to leave them anytime soon.

Extremely small sample size but a great month in that for Baron Strucker and Hydra on the back of his performance.

Shadowland Daredevil struggled a lot in RSE in April dragging the overall numbers down for the Criminal Syndicate, who did get a stellar performance from Kingpin.

After a very slow start to his career Kang has absolutely risen to the top and had a dominant month for Cabal.

Weapon X was barely played in RSE but did well in the few games they were in.

Loki, Prince of Lies had a top tier month for Asgard, Thor stayed positive but Jane couldn't reach 50% in RSE to have them just miss the top 10.

Inhumans have reached absolutely fair and balanced territory with the banning of Great Refuge and the changes to the crisis setup it seems. Their popularity definitely took a hit from it though.

Doctor Strange Defenders were super popular and reasonably successful. Daredevil could not support that in a meaningful way however.

Mighty Avengers stay close to but miss the 50% mark for the first time since their release.

Thralls of Dracula did not reach 50 games in RSE which is untypically low but still scratched at the 50% mark.

Brotherhood of Mutants was better in AE than in RSE in April.

Overall a pretty harsh month for Avengers even though Hulkbuster and Sam could stay above 50% in their few games.

A very low play rate month for Legion of the Lost.

X-Men were led by Professor X as usual while Cyclops was 15% points worse in close to the same amount of games. Storm was basically irrelevant.

Blade is somewhat back in business going exactly even but Elsa Bloodstone was even worse than her average to the Midnight Sons downfall.

Wakanda absolutely plummeted in April with a meager 50 games played and negative records for all three leaders.

As in AE I suspect some Bastion games were played before he was an option to choose in Longshanks for the Sentinels. Prime definitely had a terrible month regardless.

Doc Ock beats out Green Goblin as the more successful Spider-Foes leader in RSE April but that's hardly a win for the affiliation as both are 44% or lower.

X-Force sit comfortably in the bottom of the standings and nothing really points to that changing any time soon.

Hardly any RSE games for New Mutants and distinctly more losses than wins in those.

Winter Guards waits for the updates. Nothing else to add here.

And so does Hellfire Club.

Thanos was not great but having the dead weight of Corvus (who himself desperately also needs an update) loosing all his games doomed Black Order to last place.

Affiliation Overview: Spider-Foes (2026 update)

Why should you play the affiliation  Are you a somewhat of a scientist yourself? Do you like crushing arachnids? Do you love making overly complicated plans and see them ruined by a teenager?  Spider-Foes are a super fun faction, which boosts the best looking line of miniatures in the game and a very fun and unique play style with tricks and traps.  How to start the affiliation  As long as it's available you absolutely start with the Spider-Foes Starter set. It's the so gle best deal in MCP and probably all of tabletop wargaming.  The only characters you're missing out of the affiliation after that are:  Kingpin (available in the Criminal Syndicate Affiliation pack, which is a good additional pick up after the starter set)  Doctor Octopus (available in the Spider-Foes Affiliation Pack or Rivals Panel)  Doc Ock, Sinister Scientist (available in the Earth Mightiest Core Set, a good additional pick up if you need terrain) Venom (currently de f...

Affiliation Overview: Web Warriors

Why should you play the affiliation  Peter Parker is the single most popular character in the world. Miles and Gwen share between them the focus of the two best superhero movies of all time and are extremely popular characters in their own rights.  On the table Web Warriors are a supreme objective play team building off of their core of incredible 3 threats. They are big enough nowadays to offer different approaches too though.  How to start the affiliation  Untypically I don't think getting the affiliation pack is always the best way to start here. While Miles and Gwen are absolute core models to the affiliation, 4 threat Peter Parker will very rarely (if ever) see the table and Venom is decent but really up to personal taste. And seeing how the only real benefit of the affiliation pack is getting the additional Peter for free you can really decide if that's worth it for you. If you own core set 1 you already have the character and if you own core set ...

Affiliation Overview: Defenders (updated)

Why should you play the affiliation  Defenders are a giant affiliation containing both the more mystic focused Defenders of Doctor Strange and also the Marvel Knights which made up the Netflix show Defenders.  On the board Defenders have a super deep roster with a tonne of great characters and some variety in play style.  How to start the affiliation Update: In Q2 2025 AMG releases the Defenders affiliation pack which uniquely comes with five models in Doctor Strange, Wong, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. You have to pick this pack up first and absolutely should.  After that I would first pick up Shang-Chi and Silver Sable followed by Hulk and then Namor and Black Panther, Chosen of Bast. You have your core very much there. The affiliation is very deep and has a lot of good characters but with those mentioned you have your probably most used models in hand already. Also all of the affiliated TTCs. Just note that Pentagrams of Falafel (let me have fun with t...
