Welcome to the June 26 Affiliation Stats article. See here for last month.
As always we start with All Events AE and further down we have Rated Singles Events RSE.
It's the last full month with the current meta where next month we might start to see the impact of the upcoming updates depending on when exactly in July they do release.
Say it with me kids: kill the double bubble AMG! Namor, who is set to rerelease so could have gotten a deeper look for the updates leads SHIELD to first overall and every other leader for the faction (in fractions of the games played) had a good month as well.
Slowly but surely King T has is in the process of taking over the mantle of Wakandas default leader and his leadership has become much better with more terrain on the average table. He is certainly a character that could use a little tweak down (personally I'd take away that he gains power when allies take damage) but his leadership is cool and fun and I don't think it will change.
Convocation keeps up their trend of being quietly top tier.
Servants of the Apocalypse enjoy the time in the sun as long as it lasts. We know that there's going to be a little nerf to the leadership specifically but not what it is exactly and it's impact remains to be seen.
Inhumans on the other hand probably already got their nerf in the form of the banning of The Great Refuge but they continue to put out top tier numbers regardless.
Avengers had their best month for a long time. Every leader stayed at least even with the three with decent to very good miniatures all being decidedly above 50%. Sam especially has seen a resurgence in play rate and his win rate has always been high, though 67% is absolutely dominant.
Web Warriors are a top tier team month in and month out and June was no different. Miles is the best leader for them but both ASM and Spider-Verse are competitive options as well.
Asgard appears to be back baby. Loki 2 had a fantastic month, Thor 1 could hold his own and Jane at least didn't completely sink the ship.
Dark Dimension is just solidly in the upper half, often the top 10 of the standings and this month makes no difference.
Hellfire Club seems to have regained a following and some successful players. It can only go upwards for them with buffs to a few affiliated characters to be expected (bigger Updates for Shadow King, Omega Red and Mister Sinister; Stamina increase for Sunspot).
Shadowland Daredevils play rate was probably the lowest I can remember but of course Kingpin is the defacto leader of the Affiliation and he's been doing well as usual.
Mighty Avengers have levelled themselves to a well balanced Affiliation.
Guardians of the Galaxy remains immensely popular dwarfing even the evergreens of Avengers and Web Warriors. Adam Warlock had the majority of the games but it is still pretty close a split between him and Star-Lord. Neither was able to reach 50% though.
Overtaken in games played were the Guardians, and who would've expected to read this sentence one year ago, the Sentinels! Bastion alone almost tops ever other Affiliation as a whole. 49% win rate shows they appear to be well balanced.
Only Blade led, Midnight Sons would be an above 50% Affiliation in June but the few games played with Elsa Bloodstone leadership did pull them down under once again.
Spider-Foes scratch at the 50% mark but miss it barely.
Defenders almost got to 500 games with 3/4th of them under Doctor Strange leadership. He was close to 50% but Daredevil, in his share, couldn't really keep up.
Hydra had very much a down month in terms of games played. They were pretty close to 50% at least.
New Mutants could use a little popularity boost. Let's hope the X-Factor pack isn't too far off and Danni Moonstar makes an impact for them.
Not a great month for Kang but instead Red Skull 3 and Malekith got it done for Cabal. Red Skull and Sin hope that they are included in the updates.
Legion of the Lost barely got over 50 games and couldn't get too close to 50%.
For the X-Men Professor X and more surprisingly Storm had very good months but Cyclops, who had the most games, lost more than 2/3rds of them.
A-Force patiently await the coming buff to She-Hulk. Not much to say otherwise at the moment.
X-Force might get a popularity boost from X-Men 97 season 2 but on the table something needs to change for them. Not really sure what exactly as in theory they are built around solid to very good models but it just doesn't come together to reliable success.
Brotherhood have ups and downs but the latter are far more often in recent months and June was a particularly bad one for Magneto specifically. I don't expect him to change in the updates (because he's not being rereleased) but he could certainly use it.
Thanos alone wasn't that far away from 50% for Black Order, but a surprisingly high amount of 26 games under Corvus Glaive leadership (one of the, if not the, very worst in the game) weren't especially helpful for the overall win rate of the Affiliation.
11 wins in 31 games played. Weapon X is barely an affiliation at this point. In a very similar vein to X-Force the individual characters all are at least solid but it doesn't form a cohesive team.
Winter Guard is getting their rerelease pack this month so there is high hopes for big buffs to Darkstar and Ursa Major and at least quality of life changes to Red Guardian (6/6 Stamina would already help him a lot) and Crimson Dynamo (7/6 Stamina and a better Spender would be my picks for him).
Very healthy priority win percentages and 20 threat is on the heels of 17 whereas 16 is not especially well liked.
Rated Singles Events
SHIELD reigns supreme and Namor wasn't even their best RSE leader.
Avengers make a rare visit to #2 overall in RSE with strong months from all of their leaders.
Asgard in top 3 RSE? What is this, 2024? The incoming RE buff to Thor 2 will only help a team that apperantly already get along well with the new Challenger Rotation. Increased Stamina across the game could hurt them though.
Inhumans are a top tier Affiliation month in and month out. Their numbers would be even higher if Maximus was out of the picture.
Miles was dominant, Spider-Verse was strong and ASM held his own for a very good overall Web Warriors month.
A 4:1 record in RSE for Killmonger Usurper leads me to believe someone found a list that worked for them and went 4:1 at a tournament. Good for them! King T almost had as many games as M'Baku and did way better than him. Low overall play rate but good success rate for Wakanda.
Mighty Avengers fared even better in RSE than in AE. They are a solid team and have to be reckoned with.
Only #8 for Servants of the Apocalypse but a very good win rate still.
A month to forget for Shadowland Daredevil but overall a good one for Criminal Syndicate.
Convocation is there in the top 10 like it basically always is without really being on anyone's mind.
Dark Dimension just misses the top ten but Dormammu remains something you need to be prepared for in RSE.
Sentinels were the most popular RSE affiliation of the month and went pretty much exactly even which is pretty good and healthy for the overall game.
Hellfire Club won almost exactly half of their 54 RSE games and they should only improve with the updates. An Affiliation I definitely have my eye on to try after the hopeful fixes for Mister Sinister, Omega Red and Shadow King (my favorite miniature in the game, and one of only 8 characters I haven't put on the table yet).
A dominant month for Red Skull 3 Cabal. Malekith also went positive but Kang and especially Red Skull 1 and Sin dragged the Affiliation down a lot.
Speaking of dragging down, Elsa Bloodstone sadly is pretty much a weight on Blades leg. It has the Midnight Sons down to 47% overall.
Often seen as the top affiliation at the moment and the Blue Marvel Pentagrams list certainly is very strong but overall Defenders didn't enjoy a great month.
New Mutants as said above, hope Danni Moonstar gives them a little popularity boost.
Even with the upcoming updates not here yet A-Force was pretty popular in RSE. They were pretty far off from 50% though.
The same can be said for Brotherhood of Mutants.
Spider-Foes also haven't found their footing in the new Challenger Rotation.
Take Cyclops out of the picture and X-Men would be in the top half of the standings. But his 30% win rate in 97 games absolutely dooms the Affiliation to bottom tier.
It's pretty much the same story with Black Order and Corvus Glaive even though the Affiliation as a whole only had 46 games, less than any X-Men leader.
Legion of the Lost weren't played a lot in RSE in June and the results also weren't there.
Winter Guard, just before their rerelease pack comes out, had the fewest games of any affiliation and also lost the majority of them.
Weapon X just narrowly beat Winter Guard in games played but came out to the same win rate. Logan won 3 of 4 though so maybe the common wisdom of either using X-23 or no leadership at all has to be re thought?
Thralls of Dracula have almost as many games played as the three affiliations before them but had a month to forget in terms of win rate giving them (as far as I remember) their very first last place finish.
Again very healthy priority win rates and in RSE 20 threat gets even closer to 17 as the second most played.
That's it for today.
Cheers from Germany 🍻
