Welcome to the March Affiliation Stats post. As always: we start with All Events first and further down we have Rated Singles Events (RSE).
Servants of the Apocalypse take the crown once again. Very popular, very successful. This hasn't changed ever since the War of Kings crisis rotation has started.
Someone has found very much success with classic Black Panther led Wakanda it seems and King T also has done well for himself again. M'Baku as the main leader of the Affiliation was just slightly above 50% and even Killmonger Usurper, in for him many games in a month got to exactly even earning Wakanda the 3. Spot.
The big resurgence of Invincible Iron Man is here. Not sure if the team up card with Rescue is what brought people back to him (though his number of games isn't super high either) but whatever did it was very successful. He had an even better record than defacto leader Namor who stays consistently at about 57%.
A big comeback for Miles Morales in terms of popularity. It's no news that he's the strongest leader for the Web Warriors, who enjoyed a good month with close to 700 total games because of it.
Dormammu and his Dark Dimension had somewhat of a down month in terms of win rate, but remain above 50% and were played over 300 times.
A relatively good month for Sentinels with a decent amount of games played and perfectly average win rate.
Magento was pretty popular and Brotherhood as a whole was as well but missed the 50% mark quite clearly anyway.
Close but not quite 100 games with X-Force and sadly 45% has to be seen as a very good month for them comparatively...
I'm not sure what it is that makes Blade led Midnight Sons so bad at the moment. They are very flexible in play style and have loads of good characters. It might just be that many of the current top dogs can exploit the Affiliations weakness to Energy attacks.
A pretty terrible month for Weapon X winning just slightly more than every third game played. X-23 was at least a bit closer to 50/50 than Logan.
Invincible Iron Man has returned from the land of obscurity to be an absolutely dominant leader for the games most successful Affiliation. SHIELD, as usual, also got a fantastic performance from Namor while Nick Fury could at least see the 50/50 mark.
MODOK2 brings another surprise top tier month for a leader rarely ever seen. He's probably the Pay to Flip flex for many Kingpin rosters who in turn also dominated.
Hellfire Club is another affiliation eagerly awaiting the updates to some key members. For what they are at the moment they didn't do terrible.
X-Men can't seem to find any kind of sustained success. Even Professor X has fallen under 50% and Cyclops remains one of the worst performing leaders in the game.
The trend of going first being the (slightly) more important roll counties in RSE. Threats are also pretty diverse here.
For last months stats check out the February article.
All Events (AE)
Servants of the Apocalypse take the crown once again. Very popular, very successful. This hasn't changed ever since the War of Kings crisis rotation has started.
Inhumans had a borderline broken tool banned with the removal of "The Great Refuge" but it apparently had 0 effect on their win rate. Their popularity has dropped a bit.
Spot.
The amount of games played as Criminal Syndicate blow the other top affiliations out of the water. Kingpin alone has more games played than any of the other top 5 affiliations and did absolutely incredible in them. MODOK2 helped out when needed, Shadowland Daredevil was perfectly average and even Klaw in his few games was very close to reach 50/50.
The big resurgence of Invincible Iron Man is here. Not sure if the team up card with Rescue is what brought people back to him (though his number of games isn't super high either) but whatever did it was very successful. He had an even better record than defacto leader Namor who stays consistently at about 57%.
Nick Fury, as good as he is as a model, continues to struggle a bit in the current meta.
Speaking of Rescue making an Impact: A-Force had a very good month in both games played and win rate and I have a feeling Miss Potts could have something to do with that.
A big comeback for Miles Morales in terms of popularity. It's no news that he's the strongest leader for the Web Warriors, who enjoyed a good month with close to 700 total games because of it.
Hellfire Club makes a surprise visit in the top 10. We all hoped to see the announced updates to Omega Red and Mister Sinister at the very least for Adepticon but that's now still two months out. Someone must've found success with the current versions of the characters anyway.
Mighty Avengers have come in into the game just this year but have proven themselves to be very popular and constantly slightly above 50% and in the top 10. Signs of a good designed Affiliation.
Dormammu and his Dark Dimension had somewhat of a down month in terms of win rate, but remain above 50% and were played over 300 times.
Hydra had just slightly more than half of those games and did a bit above average in them.
Close to 900 games, close to 500 just with Adam Warlock leadership (the coolest leadership in the game) for Guardians of the Galaxy! And here I thought I would be the only person caring about Adam Warlock... His win rate is incredible and is only counter acted by Star-Lord staying way below 50%.
The big bad Boogeyman of the month are Doctor Strange Defenders. And in terms of games played that is absolutely true. But it didn't work out to be at least 50% win rate which is quite the surprise as it's a very strong list. Daredevil, in a fraction of the games played, got to 52%.
Cabal is the only affiliation in the game with five leaders and Malekith, Red Skull 3 and surprisingly also Red Skull 1 did well. Kang is very popular right out of the gate but hasn't seen consistent success yet.
A relatively good month for Sentinels with a decent amount of games played and perfectly average win rate.
Spider-Foes still ride the Starter Set for a pretty big number of games played with moderate success.
Sam Wilson had another dominant month for the Avengers while Hulkbuster also was pretty successful. The same can't be said for either Steve Rogers however.
Magento was pretty popular and Brotherhood as a whole was as well but missed the 50% mark quite clearly anyway.
Loads of games for Asgard trying out their new toys big with limited success.
Below 100 games in a month is nothing new for Legion of the Lost and staying below 50% isn't either.
Close but not quite 100 games with X-Force and sadly 45% has to be seen as a very good month for them comparatively...
Thralls as always was more often played than Legion of the Lost but was even less successful this month.
Uncanny X-Men have a high number of games with even Storm getting close to 100 games and being the best leader for the month. Both Xavier and Cyclops have more games but Professor X was slightly and Scott was way worse in terms of win rate.
I'm not sure what it is that makes Blade led Midnight Sons so bad at the moment. They are very flexible in play style and have loads of good characters. It might just be that many of the current top dogs can exploit the Affiliations weakness to Energy attacks.
Elsa Bloodstone numbers are still worse but way closer to Blade than they have in the past.
Corvus Glaive is a top tier leader, you heard it here first folks. ☝️ Of course 10 games is not a real sample size but at least someone must've found a build that worked with him. Thanos was comparatively popular in March wasn't completely terrible.
New Mutants numbers have dropped a lot again in both games played and win rate.
A pretty terrible month for Weapon X winning just slightly more than every third game played. X-23 was at least a bit closer to 50/50 than Logan.
30 Unaffiliated games were not bestowed with success.
Poor poor Winter Guard. We were all hoping to have the updates by now to give them some much needed help but alas that and the new crisis rotation are still ways off...
The threats have evened out a lot more ever since the set-up changed.
Rated Singles Events (RSE)
Invincible Iron Man has returned from the land of obscurity to be an absolutely dominant leader for the games most successful Affiliation. SHIELD, as usual, also got a fantastic performance from Namor while Nick Fury could at least see the 50/50 mark.
Servants of the Apocalypse were still strong and popular.
MODOK2 brings another surprise top tier month for a leader rarely ever seen. He's probably the Pay to Flip flex for many Kingpin rosters who in turn also dominated.
Mighty Avengers are more successful in RSE than in AE and can claim the 4. Spot for March.
Convocation, probably devasted that Wiccan will apparently not be released this year, quietly are in the top 5 yet again.
Web of the Spider-Verse narrowly beat out Miles Morales in RSE win rate but it was a fantastic month for Web Warriors either way.
Whoever found success with original Black Panther Wakanda did not do it in RSE. Not a huge number of games overall for the Affiliation but good win rate from M'Baku.
Guardians are the top 10 Affiliation with the most games and are only kept in check by Star-Lord not performing at a top level at all. Personally I went 2:1 with Adam Warlock in RSE. I've played 7 total games with him so far and am 3:4 but 3:1 ever since I switched to the Space Gem on him. I've also assembled the Virus with him twice in his last two games. Something I never achieved before at all.
Almost 200 games for Dark Dimension and safely in the top 10 but a bit lower than I would have expected.
Now for Sentinels that's just beautiful 😍. Exactly 100 games with a perfectly even 50 wins and losses each.
What is popular and what is effective for Avengers is pretty much the exact opposite, with Sam being great, Hulkbuster being even and both Steves missing the mark.
Brotherhood was pretty decent, Mystique even positive, in their close to 200 RSE games.
Red Skull, as usual, was by far the better leader in RSE for Hydra.
Defenders, often stated as the strongest Affiliation of the month absolutely don't have the numbers to back that claim up. Daredevil in less than a fifth of the games played was able to stay positive surprisingly.
122 RSE games for Kang but pretty far from even, while Malekith, RS3 and even RS1 had good months for Cabal.
In a rare occasion Doc Ock beats out Green Goblin in RSE win rate for Spider-Foes but in way fewer games.
Huge drop in play rate for New Mutants in RSE.
Thanos was pretty close to even and Corvus did achieve that for Black Order. Two leaderless games may be true but if they were both were losses.
Hellfire Club is another affiliation eagerly awaiting the updates to some key members. For what they are at the moment they didn't do terrible.
Asgard did however. Valkyrie and Elendil is an amazing model both physically and rules wise. The latter isn't really true for the Warriors Three in my opinion and neither has lifted the affiliation overall up again.
No luck and no silber lining really for X-Force.
X-Men can't seem to find any kind of sustained success. Even Professor X has fallen under 50% and Cyclops remains one of the worst performing leaders in the game.
Hardly any games played with Weapon X and not too far off from winning half of them.
Exactly three times as many games for Thralls of Dracula but without much more success.
It pains me deeply to see my favorite earth based heroes so low here with Blade absolutely tanking and Elsa staying in the 30% ever since she released. Let's hope the next crisis rotation will help them out.
Winter Guard stoically await the updates that will hopefully give them a little boost.
Unaffiliated is dead last which makes me happy 😊
The trend of going first being the (slightly) more important roll counties in RSE. Threats are also pretty diverse here.
That's it for today.
Cheers from Germany 🍻
